@SteveMG500 Excuses. The UK is an island, so I guess the theory of being islands makes it easy, just went straw man. It didn't become the deciding factor for them. It's is the steps taken, not the land classification.

@justinbeetle2594 That's my point. People point at NZ and say they are an island - then jump to the conclusion that this was the reason they were successful. My point is, this is disingenuous to NZ, and just an excuse as to why their country failed.
