@jamiel8552 If the US has a 1 hour news service, it will mostly be on US news.
I get that with a smaller population Australia has fewer news stories about Australia.
That is not in question.
That is why they would do world news...the whole world not just US.
Australia does NOT dedicate much time to US news as a percentage of the entire news broadcast ( Sky Propaganda Service being the exception ), so for the small amount of time dedicated to ALL of that US news from a huge population, you would think there are enough really big US stories to fill that fraction of a news broadcast every day.
Somehow, with all that US news, and other foreign news, squeezed in to a tiny fraction of a news broadcast, we still heard about it.
The story must have come from a US affiliate, that chose not to air it.
When looking at statistics, let's look at the percentage of time dedicated to broadcasting US news, not just some population statistics.
Doing that you will find Australia dedicate MUCH lower time to reporting on the vast amount of US news, than the US does.
Australian media still found time.
Therefore, I can only deduce it was a question of priorities.
