  1. Historically, Crimea was part of Russia. When the Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic was born after the triumph of the Bolshevik Revolution, Crimea was part of Russia. It was Nikita Khrushchev (Ukrainian) who gave Crimea to Ukraine SSR without a plebiscite. The people of Crimea ARE Russians, and demand to be part of Mother Russia. Why would they want to be part of the Ukraine which is an economic basket-case and international pariah selling rocket engines to North Korea.
