  9. I do agree that Putin will be remembered for restoring Russia as a great power. What I would add to the obvios "restoring Russia to a great power", is that a great power for Russia is different to the Anglosaxon concept of great power in the Putin context. Russia's great power is not for economic hegemony, for that would create a sharp rebuke from China who is warry of European Power. For Putin being a great military power provides Russia national security. The West dreams to have access to the vast mineral and energy resources of Russia. Russia's invasion of Ukraine is entirely of a national security concern. Expect Ukraine to be reintegrated into Russia. Ukraine was used as a proxy war by NATO.
