  1. I visited Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I found in their botanic gardens a California Coastal Redwood. I do believe that you can grow these in the Patagonia. I also visited the Andes Mountains in Ecuador, and the Bishop Pine thrives as does the Monterrey Cypress. In the Cuenca Region of Ecuador, the climate is cool and foggy. It reminded me of Northern California. Redwoods can also grow there.
