  2. The days when Stalin made Eastern Europe into vassal states are over. Neither Turkey nor Russia could ever be vassals of each other. The USSR tried to turn China into a vassal state, and it never worked even though Russia industrialized China. Even Erdogan complained to Putin that the West treats Turkey like a second class citizen which is true. Russia and Turkey ARE equals as are Iran and China. Russia has Abandoned its European identity, and is now embracing a Eurasian identity. The sooner that Turkey embraces its Eurasian identity and establishes links to the Chinese Silk Road, the better for Turkey. One day later, Germany and France will link up to Chinese high-speed railroads to Beijing.
