  6. By the US forcing NATO on Ukraine, it was a know provocation for Russia. The idea was to boycott the Russian economy and deny SWIFT to Russia's central bank, the financial nuclear option, ala, Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, North Korea. It was design to inflict the most pain to the Russian people in the hope that Putin would be overthrown. And, someone like Navalny or Zelensky would by Russian president and break relations with China, and that Russia would open its energy sector to American and EU energy companies. That was the plan.
