  1. You don't want your oil to be hot when changing it, you want it to be warm!!! And at first always open the fill plug so that the oil can drain out more easily! Additionally: If possible, you should always fill the oil filter with some of the fresh oil, so that your engine has oil pressure fast when starting after an oil change.
