  1. Dear robertwillis and others. There is or at least was absolutely no scooter in Italy that ran only 35 mph! Even the Vespa and Piaggio Mofas (for instance the Ciao) with the smallest 50ccm engines drove two to three times faster than the equivalent models in Germany (due to not having restrictions in the carburettor/engine/exhaust). And that's not only a fact, I saw it with my own eyes while being very often in Italy from the 1960's to the 1990's. Best regards, luck, wisdom and health in particular.
