The UK just has to agree on paying the 45 million they still owe, and the open border with Ireland and Gibraltar. Once that is done, they can negotiate the trade agreement and go for the soft Brexit. But if they keep acting like spoiled little kids, hard Brexit will be a fact. I'm not blaming this on the UK citizens, but on the politicians involved in this.

Graham Whatley doesn't realize that a hard Brexit will only hurt the people in the United Kingdom. No matter how proud you are of your country, economically the UK needs Europe more than the other way around. So we'll talk in 10 years when the mainland Europe is making collections for their 3rd world neighbour :-)

@ Rita Shaw . What do you mean dutch? You are 1 of these people that assumes instead of doing some research. You can even give me a 20 point essay. Fact of the matter (And if you look it up you will see it's a fact) UK economy is already falling behind on the rest of the EU. You import more from us than you export to us, so tell me again how a hard brexit will benefit the UK?

EU would like a good negotiation, that is very clear. But we definitely don't need the UK. That why it is a bit of a game indeed. EU Wants to set an example in case other countries are getting some ideas of leaving.

You can't really blame the immigration all on Europe? You already had problems before we opened the borders. So that's a quite narrow minded look on things for a nation that conquered half the world and then complain when they follow you home.

Instead of blaming the EU, maybe consider UK legislation and welfare? The reason so many refugees want to go to the UK, is not because of it's beauty, but because it's the easiest country to get welfare and/or asylum.

It's Billion apparently. Look up EU divorce bill on google. It's a bit too long to copy paste :-)

Hence the stale mate in the Brexit negotiations. EU and UK need to find a solution which is acceptable to both, before they will even begin with the trade agreement.
