They are wearing a uniform and have taken the field as much you and I show up to work, if you start disrespecting others including the country, then it is up to the company to decide whether or not they want your representation of the company. Free speech does have consequences, especially when you do it on someone else's time... So it will be up to fans to decide the fate of the owners and players now.

TheFemaleCritic. When they kneel they are not only disrespecting whites, but also Native Americans, Asians, Hispanic and last but not least there own people that served and died for the country... I don't think you will ever understand, there is a time and place for everything, and being in uniform while being on the field, which makes them currently employees of a company or owner, is definitely not a plus for equal rights. I am so sure of this, that if MLK was here today, he would be begging the players to stop this, because it only benefits the racist and casts a terrible light on all minorities.

TheFemaleCritic. After reading most of your counter comments, you definitely don't understand what you are talking about. #1. The players are most definitely disrespecting our country and the people that served and died for our country. Players can protest without giving a middle finger to our country, by joining marches, and using social media, and the news media as well in interviews to get their points across, without disrespecting others. #2. The owners have every right to decide the fate of their employees if they don't agree with their representation of their team or company coming from that employee. Trump just opened the door and told the owners to grow a backbone and do something about this, or it makes them look even worse than the players, a bunch of fearful yellow bellied cowards. #3. You are entitled to freedom of speech, but there is also consequences for using it especially on others folks time and payroll. Meaning if fans want to destroy the NFL, they can do it rather quickly. I personally stopped watching the NFL, and now watching colleges play.

TheFemaleCritic. You do realize that how you act and how you are perceived can also determine societies attitude towards others. Like if you act like and look like a gang banger, society will treat you accordingly. I have had some really great black bosses, that never acted or looked like gang bangers, and they all earned the positions they had achieved in life. Also I have noticed many blacks have a lack of respect for rules that can also affect society treatment of them. So when you talk about your siblings treatment by society, are you being bias about it? Like has any been to prison? What level of education have they achieved? What kind of positions are they holding employment wise? How do they act? and etc.. If you want to win people over to your side, you have to be honest with the rest of the story.

kellerr13. In uniform, on field, you are currently representing the team or company and if you misrepresenting the company or team, then it gives the employer the right to terminate employment.

Daniel fountain. Please by all means protest while at work and see where that gets you. Fool, nobody is stopping them from protesting, but when they are on the job, it is up to the owners to decide whether not they want that kind of representation of their team, and it is up to the fans whether they want to pay owners to watch a bunch of uneducated thugs protest. :)

ZFlyingVLover. Amen! I am one of the first in my family not to serve our country, but I was surrounded not only by family members being Vets, but many friends that served not only in WW2, which one friend was a medal of honor winner, but also Korean Vets and Vietnam vets including my own father who eventually succumbed to lung cancer (Which he never smoked, except an occasional cigar.) caused by agent orange. These players don't know how well they have it, and to use such a poor excuse to act so disrespectfully when there is so many other ways to make a difference just saddens me...

Babylauncher3000. Technically Kaepernick was fired. Teams did not want him for 2nd or 3rd string quarterback. If enough pressure is put on the owners, (-$$$) then you will see some players let go, of course they will come up with lame excuses to justify the process.
