D Sanchez. Because the NFL players are disrespecting the country as a whole, which when others watch, actually tells them that they don't have to respect others, or even themselves. I grew up in the 60's and 70's, and most us got our first gun when we reached the age of twelve, with ammo no less. None of us even considered shooting others, in fact we were more worried about screwing up and getting our guns taken away as a form of punishment. The difference back then was our parents taught us to respect others, no matter whether you agree with them or not. What a lot of these kids are doing today would have embarrassed our parents to the point that we would get our butts blistered, "for starters." We were surrounded by guns, in fact most families actually had stand up glass display cases in the living with either no lock, or a cheap lock that anyone could easily open, but we were told not to touch them, or god help us, and our parents meant it. It is not a gun problem, it is the lack of respect we are showing towards one another nowadays, and the NFL players are making it worse, not better... I want you to take another look at the First Amendment, and then the Second Amendment. Why do you think the Second Amendment follows the First Amendment? Here is why, "It is true, the pen is mightier than the sword, but without the sword, the pen no longer exists." Think about it, our founding fathers knew exactly what they were doing, and how to keep the people in control of their country by giving them that special right.
