  1. No we need to change the laws, period. Taxpayers shouldn't have to foot the bill to keep him alive, while bleeding hearts will look for any excuse to release him back into society. This is why I believe in a professional jury system, that can go through the evidence a lot faster than a normal jury could, and this would stream line death penalty cases, and cut down on the BS. Got to remember with technology things have greatly improved with physical evidence, like DNA, cameras, like how they finally nailed the "golden gate killer" with DNA. Time to streamline the legal system, and cut the BS out of it.

  2. Rex fromMN. You are talking about a legal system that has been turned into swiss cheese, and that is exactly why I believe in fixing and streamlining the legal system. The biggie is using professional juries in capital punishment cases, this would help greatly because most jurors would be acquainted with the process, and could key in on the actual evidence at hand in a case. Now when it comes to witnesses, I would only put so much stock in a witness testimony, while DNA, physical evidence, and of course now with more and more video, I would put way more stock in those in comparison of a witness word of mouth. After that I would go by criteria, how much evidence is there, like I couldn't give the death penalty to someone on just word of mouth alone, but say two things are met, say physical and DNA evidence then I would call that "dead to rights," no pun intended, but I would consider that overwhelming evidence, and there should not be any appeals. See the thing is, is you are talking about the current screwed up legal system, which yes it is a terrible waste of money, and needs to be fixed.

  3. Rex fromMN. Yes, we don't use professional juries in this country, and that is a problem, especially when it comes to serious crimes.
