  1. I live in Washington and I can tell you that ALL of our bridges are "structurally obsolete". One of the highest traffic bridges, the 520 floating bridge into Seattle, was only meant as a temporary solution while the real bridge was built. This was decades ago. Our state government is one of the most incompetent in the entire country. They won't fix our roads, won't fix our bridges and make our main roads into tolls, citing lack of funds, but we get the "tunnel to nowhere" instead. Typical.
