I'm just saying, I've had friends who are a lot like this, just straight up scream insults at anyone who says they're religious, and it only bolsters their convictions, you know? It's hard as fuck to act calm and kindly in the face of such blatant ignorance or even downright bigotry, but it's the only way you'll manage to change minds. As for this Cupp chick, she seems like an oxymoron, being a conservative atheist and all. Part of me thinks her spiel on "someday wanting to find faith" sounds like bullshit pandering to her audience because she knows damn well she wouldn't have a career otherwise, but eh, I've been wrong before.

  11. +Proto Man Yeah, that's why I don't get why christians and muslims hate each other so much. They're basically the same faith. They both worship the same stupid deity, but neither side will admit it! As for me, I just can't ascribe anything to a divine intelligence. There have been many, MANY gods since the dawn of humankind; seems unlikely that we've only just recently hit upon the right one. Just think of the untold billions of people damned for eternity because the almighty didn't do jack shit to try and correct them for all those millennia before judaism became a thing. Sounds to me like god's kind of an asshole.

Oh yeah, they're truly the morally superior ones, yessir! If the U.S. were in a state of turmoil and lawlessness like the Middle east currently is, I have no doubt in my mind that the mouth-foaming evangelicals would be doing the exact same thing.

There's terrible shit going on all around the world, from people in Africa sawing off teenage girls' bits with razor blades to the imprisonment, torture and murder of many an innocent in North Korea. Should we march into each and every one of those countries and declare war, even knowing that their retribution could have disastrous consequences for the entire world? What about our allies like Saudi Arabia and Israel, who do the same things?
