  2. Interesting concept...do you guys think this should apply to children, as well? For example I know some Asian cultures don't think much of hitting their kids or being overly controlling. I guess it depends on what your idea of criminal behavior is, and where that line must be drawn. Beating your wife or mutilating your daughter? Yeeaaahhh, that's a pretty hard line and definitely NOT legal. But what about things like being overly forceful, or controlling, or strict? Frowned upon, but not illegal.

  3. +Martin Šriber Are we talking spanking (which I feel is totally fine), or full on beating the shit out of your kid? The man I'm dating is Vietnamese and often speaks fondly of the times his father and grandfather would pummel him as a kid. Naturally, such a thing horrifies me. But it is curious to hear other cultures' take on it, specifically non-British Europeans such as yourself. I still think some things are just objectively wrong on a deep moral level, however.

  4. +616Regis Personally, I don't know why he's so doggedly defending his position that his country doesn't practice it despite a mountain of data saying otherwise. Just seems like outright jingoism, really. I'm a U.S. citizen, That'd be like me proclaiming that we never lynched black people here. Don't be "that guy", Beau. Denying that it happens is almost as wrong as defending the practice in the first place.
