YES. Yes, we should! I'm a zoologist and my god, I am tired of people wasting millions of dollars trying to save the evolutionary dead end when there are so many keystone species who need that funding.

Yes. All of this. As a zoologist and rehabber, it frustrates me to no end.

@pinkbombshellcasing2672 You're unfortunately correct. It's hard to get people to care about tiger sharks, cassowaries, bees, american alligators, or the gopher tortoise. But what about the sea otter? They're a critically endangered keystone species, their numbers are plummeting, and they're cute af, the WWF should make them their new mascot!

Hi, zoologist here. There's strong evidence that the giant panda was headed for extinction long before humans nearly wiped them out. They're objectively worthless creatures, and it's long past time we just let them go.

@Jai_and_privacy Lol nope. Pandas were already dying out way before humans came along and began taking down the bamboo forests. Humans are the only reason they still exist at all.

@shiggydiggy8308 SAVE THE SHARKS! Not just cuz they're awesome but we're kinda screwed if they're gone, lol.

Nope. They were supposed to die out a long time ago, they are absolutely pointless and they were already headed towards extinction long before humans began destroying their habitat. There are thousands of vital animals called "keystone species" that if gone extinct, will cause the _entire ecosystem to collapse. Yet hundreds of millions of dollars that could be spent on their conservation and protection, gets funneled into saving the most objectively useless animal on earth instead, just because people like you think they're cute. It's time to let pandas go.
