  2. Yup. They also don't have a particularly strong familial bond/herding instinct. They do live in groups, but they don't particularly care about the other hippos around them. In order to be domesticated, an animal must follow the four F's: Friendly, Fecund, Feedable, and Family oriented. Hippos are precisely none of those.
