I'm in a similar situation, I've been lonely and I'm terrible at going outside and actually talking to people, but the more you refuse to try, the worse you'll be at it. Find an interest, go to game nights at local comic/game shops, join a forum in a topic you like and organize a meetup, etc. If there's nothing like that physically near you then do the same over zoom. Yes it's easier said than done, but it can be done. People aren't going to reach out to you if you do nothing but sit around hoping to be contacted. Communication goes two ways.
