I'm seeing a lot of men in the comments disregarding the victim, and only talking about Toni's sentence as "proof" (aka confirmation bias) of their incel/MGTOWish beliefs. I can't believe I have to explain this, but Toni didn't get sentenced to 10 years for murder. She's serving life. The 10 years was the minimum before she could go before a parole board, which she was denied, because of course she was. And she will continue he to be denied, just like every other murder convict, for the rest of her life.

@neilsun2521 Mind if I ask where you got that statistic from? I can't find anything that cites numbers that low.

What short sentence? The possibility of parole does not mean the inevitability of parole. Just look at Diane Downs, Judith Neeley, or Mark David Chapman. They have all been consistently denied parole every time, and remain in prison. According to the DOJ, less than 6% of convicted murderers are ever granted parole.

I don't understand why everyone in here is acting like Toni will be waltzing out of prison in just a few years. That's not how it works. Her sentence means that's the minimum amount of years she must serve until her first parole hearing, keyword here being minimum. That number may be increased. As for being paroled, it is statistically almost a guarantee her first parole hearing will be denied, and it is extremely likely that all subsequent hearings will continue to be denied, for the rest of her life.
