  1. Yeah no, he's just a bad person. Mental illness is not an excuse, it does not magically make you do or say the things that your friend said and did. That is a deliberate choice on his part. If you are bipolar, it is your responsibility to get help, take your meds, and keep yourself under control. Your friends willful decision not to, makes him a bad person.

  2. The cops don't care about victims of DV. Half the time, they're the ones doing the DV themselves. Then when the inevitable happens, then they put on a show of pretending that they won't rest until justice has been done. It's appalling.
