  1. I love this movie. I also love your video critiquing this movie. That's the great thing about media, everyone sees it differently. The reason I liked the film is because I realized something by the end: we were tricked. Dani's story isn't meant to be empowering, it's meant to be disturbing. We're not supposed to think her boyfriend "deserved it", and the film doesn't frame it that way, either. The film itself is a metaphysical lesson on cult leadership, and how cults or even just really hateful political parties ensnare new minds and gain followers. The fact that so many people consider the end to be "happy" is proof of how easily humans are swayed by dangerous ideologies. Watch Kay and Skittles' video on it, they do a much better job explaining it than I ever could. And as far as I know, K&S is the only channel whose thoughts on the film match mine. BUT, you don't have to agree with them, or me. I just think you should check it out cuz I think it's a really interesting take on it.
