  1. I absolutely idolized her when I was a kid, but now that I'm an adult I can't enjoy her music anymore, because of the messed up views she has. I'm glad you brought up the "tough love" angle, because I absolutely hate how abusive parenting is normalized in the black community to the point where you get flooded with hate even for bringing it up. As if criticizing said abuse is attacking black culture in and of itself.
