At some point you have to ask yourself, considering the systemic racism in society and that we have study after study showing a cultural and racial bias against black people, could it be that what you call "typical black violence" is just a symptom of a larger societal issue? Let's break it down: If well-paying companies won't hire you because you're black, you'll be poorer. If you're poorer you may turn to a life of crime out of desperation. If police treat you like shit because of your skin color you start to distrust authority figures, etc. You start to find kinship in other downtrodden people, that's why gangs are so prevalent in poorer communities. And eventually you have a dangerous neighborhood where white people are afraid to go thus strengthening their distrust of people outside their race, and the cycle continues, the problems compound and these "stereotypes" continue to fester through no fault of their own.

  25. Nikolai Makedonsky So wait, I'm a bit confused - how does passing a slew of increasingly conservative-leaning laws = liberalism? I agree on Canada and Austria, however. It's disheartening to witness it happening before our very eyes. Australia's recent reversal of several key laws regarding endangered species protection is especially jarring, considering how fragile their unique ecosystem is, and the sheer number of threatened species that live there.

  26. ritchie frostwood Even so, I've worked with a lot of Indians in the tech industry, and I was shocked at how barbaric their mentality could be. They'd report their first day of work and see that I, a young woman, was their boss. You could see how visibly shaken they were. I've even had some interviewees walk out on me citing that as their reason for turning down the job offer. They've built entire databases out of nothing and have master's degrees, but can't cope with a younger woman holding power over them. I've also seen them struggle with simple concepts like traffic laws and child endangerment (had a couple on my street who let their kids play smack in the middle of a busy road, when CPS came they honestly didn't know there was a problem). They're not stupid people, many I've known were quite brilliant, even. They're just living in an outdated cultural standard that can't possibly hope to coexist with today's modernized, forward-thinking Western society.

  30. I got fired from my last job because I had to miss a lot of work due to my developing uterine tumors. My best friend got sacked because he had the audacity to go on his honeymoon. I hate living in an at-will employment state.

I remember reading a story about a New Hampshire family relocating to Missouri for the husband's job, and they found their kids were forced to pray in public school. They reported it to the board of education, and they put the kibosh on it. Inevitably, the entire town turned on them and made their lives a living hell until they just opted to move back and try to start their lives over. That these religious nutjobs consider themselves as morally superior is enough to make my head explode!

The whole place is dripping with more lights than a Las Vegas casino, and yet when CA was having that severe energy crisis, they refused to turn off even one light. Sure enough, my city was blacked out for days because our grid couldn't take the strain.
