Even before they were armed to the teeth, they saw civilians as the enemy, because they always assume that people are lying to them, hiding something from them, etc. It's just before they couldn't do anything about it. But now they have all these constitution-stomping laws giving them the ability to come into our homes whenever they want, and a shitload of shiny new weapons to enforce them. You may as well give a loaded shotgun to a paranoid schizophrenic. They'll both do about the same amount of damage.

A police force with tanks and assault rifles bash down O'Reilly's door and beat the crap out of him and his family because someone told them he was operating a marijuana dispensary out of his house. Maybe then he'd drop the smug attitude. It's always someone else's problem until it happens to you, eh, Billy boy?

  3. My friends and I got swamped by a bunch of cops once. About five cars came screeching up as we were walking home from a shopping trip, guns drawn and everything. They told us to get on the ground and we complied, and they cuffed us BEFORE they even asked a single question.  Turns out there'd been a call about some teenagers going around and tagging a bunch of people's homes and they thought we were them. Even though we were clearly in our late 20's. And all but one of us was a woman. And we were walking in broad daylight. Because logic. And even if we were the perps, five cars and drawn guns for some stupid kids with spray paint?! So here we are, cuffed and sitting on the grass, with a dozen cops looming over us and sternly asking us who we were and what we were doing out...again, in broad fucking daylight. Oh, and wanna know the best part? After we told them who we were and showed them our shopping bags and receipts, they just told us to keep out of trouble, got in their cars and drove off, leaving us standing there. Not even an apology. What the fuck.
