  1. I remember just ten years ago, the UK was, like, THE place to be for personal freedoms and a generally progressive society. Then suddenly they became one of the most chokingly conservative governments I can think of. What the hell happened?

  3. Nikolai Makedonsky So wait, I'm a bit confused - how does passing a slew of increasingly conservative-leaning laws = liberalism? I agree on Canada and Austria, however. It's disheartening to witness it happening before our very eyes. Australia's recent reversal of several key laws regarding endangered species protection is especially jarring, considering how fragile their unique ecosystem is, and the sheer number of threatened species that live there.

  4. Well gee, every country that has legalized or decriminalized drugs has seen a sharp DECREASE in overdoses, drug-related hospital visits and even violent crime. But yeah no I'm sure you're totally right, random guy on the internet, we should all listen to you, and only you, because clearly, you are all-knowing.

  5. Here's what I don't understand...they  banned ALL drugs? Even prescription ones? The article says "psychoactive medicines will be exempt", but we don't know that. Any cop could pull a guy over, see a pill bottle of vicotin that he was prescribed for a knee injury, and throw him in jail. The wording of this law is so incredibly vague that they've basically criminalized all doctors.
