And not everyone lives in North America, even though you americans always forget that there's a world outside of your country. 2. They spend most of the year in Canada. So not even americans get to see them except in the fall. 3. Loons are territorial, there is typically only one pair of birds per body of water. So it's not a guarantee you'll see one.
