  1. I was groomed as a young teenager, too. The guy was like this "cult leader" too, he was this guy in his 20s who claimed to be a vampire. When this story first broke, I was saddened by everyone just automatically assuming the accuser was lying, going "hard evidence" this, "hard evidence" that. When I was groomed, I didn't even know that what was happening to me WAS grooming, that's the entire reason why guys target young girls for that purpose. Also, it happened before the internet was a widespread thing. How could I be expected to go back and get evidence of that? It's absurd to expect young girls to have the foresight and the wherewithal to automatically mistrust someone they're close to and record every single interaction with everyone, just in case. And it's not like the internet doesn't have a marked history of being misogynistic and disregarding most victims without even bothering to hear their story. But watching this video, all I feel is a pit in my stomach. If it's all fabricated, that's so incredibly damaging to people like you and me. Because this is so high profile, It just means more victims will be ignored and even flat out turned against by the masses, something I know can be more than enough to drive them to do something drastic, like...um... "Self Crit" (thanks youtube for taking away our voices and not able to mention important topics). It's hard not to feel hopeless in the face of all this.
