  1. The US government doesn't value education, and parents expect teachers to raise their kids for them. When I was a kid in the 80s, my parents taught me my ABCs, how to count to ten, and how to spell my name before I reached kindergarten. They taught me that I had to respect my teachers. I was taught good manners. The issue, at least part of it, is that my generation and everyone since then, have placed kids at the head of the household, where they learn the world revolves around them. They get an inflated sense of self, because the parents instill that within them by treating them like they're more important than the parents. Between that and allowing iPads to raise our kids, it's no wonder that this is happening.
