  1. Yup. My friend has had her clothing designs stolen, another had her knitting patterns stolen, and I have had my art pieces stolen.

  2.  @tater4ever  The problem with that is, you can copyright a knitting pattern, but you can't prohibit the sales of items made using that pattern. Same with clothing designs, they're selling cheap knockoffs using photos of the real deal. And the photos my fashion designer friend used on her site were taken by a professional photographer, who has to be the one to submit the claim, not her. As for me, no, I unfortunately didn't copyright my illustrations cuz it's like $85 just to file one application, so if I did that for all of my work it would be thousands of dollars. And even then I wouldn't have the money to go after some Chinese reseller who stole my art for their phone cases. I could go after Etsy itself, but again, it's expensive to do so, and Etsy knows it. They rely on us small artists not having the funds to take legal action.

  3. That's the problem with business models like this. It panders to the lowest common denominator, and when it comes to humanity, the lowest common denominator is really low.

  5. It's not hard to see what happened. They stopped upholding their promise of handmade items only, so the whole place is a wretched tangle of cheap Chinese crap.

  6. It's not just the FDA, It's your company, and every other food product manufacturer in the US. It's all a vile cesspool of corruption, deregulation, and the government defanging the FDA to the point where they no longer even have the power to fine people found breaking food regulations, because lobbyists don't want the FDA to be able to hold them accountable. You don't see this nonsense in Europe because they actually care about standards, and food inspection agencies have the power to shut down anyone who doesn't uphold the stringent standards set there for food grade items.

  8. This is why I never buy olive oil at the grocery here in the US. And I grow my own herbs, cuz you can't trust food in the US, you simply can't. In Europe you see this far less often, cuz they actually have standards. The US? Not so much.
