Everyone's talking about how respectful this guy is (which he's not, he keeps being snarky with the prosecutor, uses vulgar language, and is incredibly rude to the defense lawyer), but everyone seems to forget what he did. This guy thought nothing of handing over something whose only purpose is to kill, to a guy who didn't have a license, didn't go through the background check to own it, and who he knew was living with his parents that didn't want the guns in their house, whom he didn't bother to ask permission first. Then he gifted HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS of ammo to go with it. He covered his own butt with the transfer, but he knew Chandler wasn't legally cleared to own a firearm. That tells me he understood something very, very bad might happen, but he did it anyway. Given how rude and defensive he was about the number of guns he's given to other people like this, it's obvious he doesn't care about gun laws. This guy is partially responsible for the murders, through sheer negligence.

No, he deserves to be judged harshly. @Sunshine-n1n He knew Chandler's parents were iffy about having that gun in their house, but did it anyway. He didn't even try to ask their permission, despite it being THEIR house.

@omgthekitty1676 Exactly. Plus he's not "respectful" at all, he was repeatedly snarky with the prosecutor, used vulgar language in court, and was incredibly rude to the defense with his "none of your business" quip.

@in_vino_veritas7938 He didn't even fall. His dad had only heard a "thump", which I believe was Chandler stomping on the bottom stair before quickly getting into position on the floor.

What would YOU do? I doubt you could do any better. Watch Matthew Orchard's video on this case, he does a good job of explaining everything while giving Chandler the riot act. He points out that had the defense lawyer tried to spin some wild narrative that made Chandler not responsible despite the OVERWHELMING evidence against him, it would have hurt her case, not helped it. Just look at the Jodi Arias case to see an example of this. All it would do is make the defendant even more despicable and disingenuous in the jury's eyes. Instead, she tries to pick apart what little she can, like pointing out how the friend add illegally giving and brokering lethal weapons, and that the neighbor couldn't have seen if the Haldersons had gotten in another person's car or not as they weren't watching them 24/7. She did the best she could given the mess she was given.

@jessisblessed6689 It's not just women. Jodi Arias has a whole bunch of men lining up trying to get with her. 🙄 People are messed up. I don't get it, either.

Kevin Alven Yeah, he WAS wrong. He's giving guns to people without a license, who haven't done a background check, with zero oversight. Plus he could have worded it any other way. He was rude af, and he deserves to be criticized.

No, he came across as an arrogant and negligent man who doesn't care about gun laws. The fact that he covered his own butt "in the case the gun was used for something bad" shows he knew that the guns he's regularly giving away or selling to unlicensed people could be used to take human life. He just doesn't care. He's also incredibly rude and snarky, so I have no idea why you think so highly of him.

@sww3405 Yeah, and look what it did for most of them. It made them look even more disgusting and inhuman for it. Sometimes, no defense is better than trying to spin a false narrative that will be demolished by the prosecution.

No, he only wanted to distance himself from the fact that he's illegally giving away and selling guns to unlicensed and unchecked individuals to save his own butt. He couldn't care less that the guns could be used for evil purposes, as long as it doesn't come back to bite him.
