@PlasmaExplosion2 You hope the best for a woman who endangered the lives of children, admitted to driving drunk, and even showed up to court drunk? She's not crying and sobbing because she regrets her actions, she's sobbing because she's feeling sorry for herself! If she hadn't been caught, she'd have happily kept on drinking while she was in charge of 20+ children. I'm appalled that your heart goes out to this woman who did this to herself, and not being even the slightest bit angry for the children she was supposed to be responsible for. Let's see you "wish the best" for a drunk driver who collides with your loved one's car. I'm sure they'd be happy to know you care more about the drunk that hit them than their own safety.

I'm appalled by all the people in the comments rushing in to defend this woman. I'm sure you'd be happy to know it was YOUR kids who were left in the hands of a drunkie, right? Or if she hit a vehicle your family was in, would you be fawning over her? You should have zero sympathy for someone who chose to drink while being responsible for all those children. She even admitted to driving drunk! And I highly, HIGHLY doubt this was her first time. She lied for 20 minutes straight, denied everything, tried to destroy the evidence, and belligerently refused to call someone to take her home until it was far too late. This is HER OWN FAULT. Shame on her, and shame on all of you taking her side, too. It's disgusting that you have all the sympathy in the world for a woman who made the choice to get drunk while watching kids, yet show none at all for the people whose lives she endangered. Update: She later showed up to her court date absolutely scuttered, and denied she had anything to drink. 🤦‍♀️ Drunk driving again! She isn't sorry for what she did, and she has no intention of ever changing.

@sonshine20072007 Gee, it couldn't possibly be that she was lying. She was caught lying about everything else, what makes you think that one statement is true? What's more likely, that she is right, she came in, stayed there drinking, and has somehow remained absolutely scuttered for 24 hours? Or that she's lying about when she last drank because she doesn't want to admit she's drinking on the job at the first day of school?

No, we have not. I've never endangered the lives of children or anyone else by showing up to my job intoxicated. Never. My habit was kept away from everyone, and I had to decide for myself I needed to get off this stuff. That's not a boast on my part, but I am saying it's ridiculous to lump all current and former struggling addicts with this woman.

Coming back here a year later and I'm just as gobsmacked. She's not crying cuz she understands what she did wrong, she's crying cuz she feels for herself now that she's catching consequences. She was happy to make the deliberate choice to drink when she had a room full of 3rd graders whose safety she was responsible for. She lied, and lied some more, tried to destroy the evidence, the cops gave her a chance to go home and preserve her dignity, and she refused. Then when they arrest her, magically she has a friend that can come pick her up! Then on top of it all, she resisted arrest. If that wasn't bad enough, she showed up to her court date drunk and admitted that she drove herself there. She doesn't care whose lives she endangers, she won't stop until she ends up murking somebody.

Right? It's disgusting that comments like yours are in the minority. Everyone is practically fawning over this woman, and it's genuinely horrifying. Let's see them keep that sympathy when it's THEIR children being endangered.

Funny how you're so eager to defend her, yet you feel nothing for the lives of the children she was responsible for. If you've lost anybody to a drunk driver, would you be offering the driver your sympathies? No, you wouldn't. So why are you ok with her risking the lives of others? Don't be a hypocrite.

Excuse me? She jerked his chain for 20 minutes, lied many times, tried to destroy evidence, and acted like a petulant child trying to stall the cop and avoid being held accountable for her actions. She even resisted arrest! He showed her WAY more patience and compassion than she deserved.

Amazing. You have all the compassion in the world for a belligerent drunk who happily chooses to drink at work, drive drunk, lie to the cops, tries to destroy evidence, refuses to cooperate with the investigation, and resists arrest, yet none at all for the children she endangered. @MrEsfranck Well clearly she isn't willing to do that, because instead of owning up to what she did, she lied, tried to destroy the evidence, and acted like a petulant child trying to stall out the cop and avoid being held accountable. She doesn't regret her actions at all, she's just throwing a pity party for herself. She also showed up drunk to court and continued to belligerently deny everything, so she very obviously doesn't see an issue with driving drunk and risking the lives of others. Still feel sorry for her? Or has it finally dawned on you that you're wasting your time and energy by harboring sympathy for wretched people like her?

My mom was also an elementary school teacher, and she was a huge drunkie. Went through a bottle of wine a night. She still insists she was never an alcoholic 🙄

Yeah, how dare the cops do their jobs and protect all those children. By the way, this was her second offense. She chose to do this. Chose to drive drunk. Chose to show up to her court date drunk, and confess yet again to driving herself there. This is a pattern of behavior, And I'm a little miffed that y'all got more sympathy for her than the children she endangered.
