I can confirm a lot of what this guy said. I'm a woman and I used to model starting in college. The agency treats you like cattle, they pressure you to do SO many things you don't want to do, threatening blacklisting, saying another model would be happy to and that you'll never make it with that negative attitude. They even have an industry term for any model who gains weight, gets pregnant or ages past 30: "self-destructed". It's so, so demeaning.
"Why not just leave then"? Why don't you leave a bad job? You need the money, you're beaten down and broken to the point where you just go along with it cuz you're told if you just do this, you'll be rewarded with so much money, you'll be well off, you'll be set for life, etc.
It's a lie. It's all a lie.

@KandyBoy69 No, Kandy, we aren't misunderstanding you at all. You're CLEARLY blaming the 15 year old because she, an ignorant, naive 15 year old, A FRESHMAN, accepted a drink from an adult. Not like young girls are raised to trust their elders, or not make waves, or anything...oh, wait. So because she had been raised to trust adults, and had an innocent crush on him, she's even partially to blame for her own r@pe? Really? She didn't even have any recollection of the night before, so she clearly didn't consent to what happened to her.
WOMEN AND GIRLS DO NOT SHARE ANY PART OF THE BLAME FOR BEING R@PED. End of.

57:43 Oof. The moment I saw "aconitine", I facepalmed. Why aconitine, and not a heavy duty opiate? Aconitine has similar uses, it's an analgesic and can halt respiratory functions, but also like opiates, it's a massive emetic, aka it makes you barf. But opiates have a euphoric effect and make you sleepy, which in this case would have been a much better option than something that becomes a VERY toxic poison in moderate to high doses. I know, I'm questioning a false narrative, but this was just like injecting an angry bear with adrenaline. It was the worst possible option, all things considered. I just hope they didn't kill the poor thing. Look at me, getting worked up over a fictitious macroorganism.
Is it bad that as a zoologist, I'm legitimately sad that this thing isn't real? I want to study those allegedly tasty copepods. Gives new meaning to the term "gastropod". Nyuk nyuk.

I was groomed as a young teenager, too. The guy was like this "cult leader" too, he was this guy in his 20s who claimed to be a vampire.
When this story first broke, I was saddened by everyone just automatically assuming the accuser was lying, going "hard evidence" this, "hard evidence" that. When I was groomed, I didn't even know that what was happening to me WAS grooming, that's the entire reason why guys target young girls for that purpose. Also, it happened before the internet was a widespread thing. How could I be expected to go back and get evidence of that? It's absurd to expect young girls to have the foresight and the wherewithal to automatically mistrust someone they're close to and record every single interaction with everyone, just in case. And it's not like the internet doesn't have a marked history of being misogynistic and disregarding most victims without even bothering to hear their story.
But watching this video, all I feel is a pit in my stomach. If it's all fabricated, that's so incredibly damaging to people like you and me. Because this is so high profile, It just means more victims will be ignored and even flat out turned against by the masses, something I know can be more than enough to drive them to do something drastic, like...um... "Self Crit" (thanks youtube for taking away our voices and not able to mention important topics).
It's hard not to feel hopeless in the face of all this.

Here are the many problems with that:
- The studio he bought was useless, he didn't bother to check if it was soundproofed and was just an ordinary warehouse, thus was unsuitable for filming. So, he just used it as a makeshift office, and to store old costumes. A complete waste of money.
- He sprung both the end of NC and the shift to Demo Reel on his audience with no warning whatsoever. Even if DR had been good (which it wasn't), it STILL would have failed, because the fans were still reeling from the end of NC and would react badly to anything designed to replace him, regardless of what it was.
- What was stopping him from doing both? Seriously? There's no reason whatsoever why he couldn't have done both. He could have split his time between projects, only upload NC once or twice a month and then work on other ideas on the side, like many media personalities, musicians, and artists do. He just doesn't make good decisions or think things through at all.
- Even during the first two episodes of DR, he lost his resolve and frantically began reshooting and rewriting the series. Not exactly the actions of someone who's finally doing what HE wants to do artistically, is it?
Bottom line, Doug is incompetent in pretty much every sense of the word.

I'm appalled by all the people in the comments rushing in to defend this woman. I'm sure you'd be happy to know it was YOUR kids who were left in the hands of a drunkie, right? Or if she hit a vehicle your family was in, would you be fawning over her?
You should have zero sympathy for someone who chose to drink while being responsible for all those children. She even admitted to driving drunk! And I highly, HIGHLY doubt this was her first time. She lied for 20 minutes straight, denied everything, tried to destroy the evidence, and belligerently refused to call someone to take her home until it was far too late. This is HER OWN FAULT.
Shame on her, and shame on all of you taking her side, too. It's disgusting that you have all the sympathy in the world for a woman who made the choice to get drunk while watching kids, yet show none at all for the people whose lives she endangered.
Update: She later showed up to her court date absolutely scuttered, and denied she had anything to drink. 🤦♀️ Drunk driving again! She isn't sorry for what she did, and she has no intention of ever changing.

@stickshiftstarship I don't think it's about abuse. I think too many people look for shallow meanings in works like this, without thinking that it's likely not that black and white. You just see parents, scary things, and the girl saying "I don't want to talk about mom", and jump to the most obvious, surface level solution you can think of.
I don't think it's about parental abuse. I believe film is about what the world looks like at night to a child having a nightmare. Familiar things look foreign in the dark, and to a child's mind, imagination and reality overlap a great deal.
This movie takes us adults right back to that uncanny, indescribable fear we felt as children, staring into the umbrae of the shadows cast upon the objects in our room and seeing monsters within the nebulous shapes within.
That's why the ending shows a repetitive scary thing (I had a lot of recurring nightmares as a kid, I bet you did, too) then a door playing heavenly music (your parent coming in to check on you if you were crying), then a face on the dark telling you to go back to sleep.
It seems pretty obvious, at least to me, that the film represents a child's nightmare.

This show is difficult for me, because if there's one thing I can't stand, it's people in denial. Not just any denial, bitter, self-absorbed, blatant, unrealistic denial. These people choose garbage over their own children, and it's innocent lives that suffer for it. Hoarders destroy lives as well as entire properties, not only leaving nothing behind when they're gone, but actively placing this damage onto others' shoulders.
Entire properties lost and useless. Nothing but pain and wasted money to deal with in the aftermath. I don't have much patience with these people, and I don't really believe they deserve to have any, to be frank. I'm glad Jasmine does, but as for me, my heart is with the broken hearts of the family and the animals that are forced to suffer in that squalor. The hoarders themselves are being treated with far more respect than they have ever shown their own children, and in doing so, I don't feel that they deserve that respect.

@pale_saint So men are men, but women are just "females", eh? Classic.
Also there's some good news I think you'll really be interested in: it turns out that women actually don't get lighter sentences than men do. I know, right? I was shocked, too. The truth is that there's a gazillion different factors that go into sentencing a convict, you can't just look at the gender of the convict and nothing else. There's other stuff to consider, like: did they plead out or not? Were they sentenced by a jury, or a judge? Were they a first time offender or a recidivist? Were they a major cog in the criminal operation, or just a small bit player? And so on, you get the idea.
According to the mathematical model, if women were held to the exact same sentencing guidelines as they do for men while ignoring all of those other contextualizing get factors, women would actually serve slightly LESS time in prison than they currently do.
Seriously, this is about the single most exhaustive, comprehensive, and objective breakdown of sentencing data that you're probably ever gonna find. I highly recommend that you read it. I want to add the caveat that this paper is from 2007, but if anything society has leaned even more egalitarian since that time, so it's a bit moot.

Oh, there's no doubt being with him exacerbated her illness. He even said it himself, he was an "extra kid" he forced her to take care of. Despite her delicate health, he still forced her to do 100% of the cooking, cleaning, and childcare, no doubt complaining and criticizing her homemaking skills the whole time.
He gaslit her so badly, probably had her thinking she was a burden and was lucky Anthony tolerated her, because according to him no other man would ever want her. She probably felt so worthless as it is, being too frail to do many things she wanted to do with her children, and he exploited her insecurities to keep her under his control.

Her GoFundMe made it very clear why she refused to work with any of her attorneys.
She wrote, verbatim:
"Qualified Counsel for Sarah Boone:
An attorney who will accept her case, take on her representation, follow her lead, see, accept, and love her for who she is, and what she has accomplished.
An attorney who will ensure that at all stages of proceedings, Sarah feels cared for, confident, positive, safe, secure, well-regarded, admired, attractive, intelligent, artistic, capable, competent, witty, warm, charismatic, accomplished, youthful, charming, adored, certain, and victorious."
Oh, is that all?

@thefridge7335 I had thought about that, but I don't think so? The bud was grown by my ex's dad, and it happened at a family barbeque. They cut them from the pan right in front of me, and everyone else ate the same brownies I did.
Before the incident, I had noticed that when friends of mine smoked around me, my muscles would twitch uncontrollably, it was so weird. I just chalked it up to paranoia at the time, cuz I mean, why wouldn't you, you know? Because of that, I'm pretty sure it's a cumulative effect. Being hotboxed is one thing, eating a whole ass brownie is another 😅

@Prashant-xl1rv You're a special kind of ignorant if you think dogs don't attack people. Just because YOU'VE never had an issue in the big cities doesn't mean your experience is universal. You're the biggest reason this problem keeps getting worse, you are so biased and blind to the truth because of your blatant dog worship.
People need to wake up and stop pretending like dogs are these angelic, holy beings, incapable of doing any harm. It's dìsgusting how much the west deifies these noisy, destructìve animals. They are predators, they attack other living things regularly, even kiIIing full grown humans. Like, a scary high amount of people are kiIIed by domestic AND feral dogs every year. And I can't even fathom how many other pets they kiII. Dogs destroy almost as much wildlife as cats do each year, and if you know anything about the cat problem, that's a lot. And the numbers in both the wildlife lost to dogs as well as dog attacks on people are increasing annually, because people like you refuse to hold them accountable and keep on allowing dogs to run around freely, thinking they won't do any harm. The law NEEDS to change, it should be absolutely legal to cull these dangerous beasts.

11:00 Nope. As an actual zoologist, I will fight you on this. Rats are one of the nastiest animals on earth. They groom a lot in order to spread musk from a gland onto their fur. You'll notice where a rat superhighway is in your house, because they'll leave behind a thick, foul-smelling layer of it on your walls.
They also don't have a fully developed bladder or "backdoor" shall we say, so they are constantly dribbling foulness everywhere they go, which is why their tails are hairless, if they had fur back there it'd get immediately matted with their own brand. Speaking of going, they are instinctively drawn to fresh water in order to contaminate it. They're extremely good at spreading disease this way.
It's for that reason that rats are the natural reservoirs for over thirty zoonotic diseases. Over thirty. And that's just the ones we can catch, the actual number is much higher. Included on their microbial rap sheet are leptospirosis, tularemia, and rat bite fever, which ALL rats carry, including pets.
Wild rats are also extremely aggressive, much like squirrels they will murk pretty much anything en masse. They accomplish this by launching themselves at a larger animal's face, which you can see in many videos here on youtube. Their goal is to go for the eyes. Rats are responsible for wiping out more wildlife each year than any other wild animal. The only ones who top them are domestic cats and dogs.
Oh, and you thought they stopped at nerfing the census of other animals? Nope. These things have eaten human babies alive. I don't recommend looking up pictures, it's.... it's not pretty. It's a large enough problem in many developing countries that they've had to invent special cribs that make it difficult for rats to climb up.

Everyone's talking about how respectful this guy is (which he's not, he keeps being snarky with the prosecutor, uses vulgar language, and is incredibly rude to the defense lawyer), but everyone seems to forget what he did. This guy thought nothing of handing over something whose only purpose is to kill, to a guy who didn't have a license, didn't go through the background check to own it, and who he knew was living with his parents that didn't want the guns in their house, whom he didn't bother to ask permission first. Then he gifted HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS of ammo to go with it.
He covered his own butt with the transfer, but he knew Chandler wasn't legally cleared to own a firearm. That tells me he understood something very, very bad might happen, but he did it anyway. Given how rude and defensive he was about the number of guns he's given to other people like this, it's obvious he doesn't care about gun laws. This guy is partially responsible for the murders, through sheer negligence.

For the first time in my life, I'm in a healthy relationship with a wonderful man. I've never felt like this before, and I'm so happy. You're so right, communication is key, and NONE of my exes have ever bothered to do this. Many of them were toxic, and a few were straight up abusive. I told myself I needed to respect myself enough to walk away from any man who wasn't communicative or only loved me for who they wanted me to be, rather than who I was.
It took 40 years for me to finally realize that I should never have had to settle, and that I'm worthy of being loved and treated so well. For decades, I assumed I wasn't worth it. Now I am working so hard to better myself, always striving to learn and grow, so I can be the best version of me to keep both myself and my relationship strong.

Likewise, I have a similar reaction to marijuana, of all things. I ate an edible and began having violent seizures, my whole body was convulsing and I had no motor control but I was conscious the entire time.
Not even my pupils were responsive when my ex FINALLY got his shi† together and took me to the hospital, so they gave me a lumbar puncture, fully conscious and aware, cuz they thought I was unconscious. I'd stopped breathing by the time they put me under, so I remember my last thought being "this is it, I'm not going to wake up".
Thankfully, they intubated me (despite my arsehole ex trying to talk them out of it for some insane reason) and I woke up 12 hours later once the marijuana had finally left my system.
I've never met anyone else who had that reaction to pot before, but yeah, kinda sucks that I can't use it 😅

Jason DeMarco released a statement that has since been deleted, saying it's all the fault of just one person. He wouldn't give a name, but this one guy completely screwed them over and is the sole reason for Uzumaki's failure. Given my experience as a former associate producer, I'd bet dollars to donuts that it was either Zaslav/Warner Bros, or the Japanese director.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that my time spent working with big name AAA publishers and collaborative US-Japanese projects was the worst of my career, if not my entire life. Japan has the most toxic work culture on earth. I truly cannot understate just how awful employees are treated there. It's very top down, one guy controls all aspects of the project. You're not allowed to say no to him, you're not allowed to give him constructive feedback that would drastically improve workflow, you're not even allowed to quit. If you do, there's a good chance your ex boss will try to ruin your life, both personally and professionally.
I guess only time will tell if any whistleblowers decide to come forward. I hope they do. People need to be made aware of the abysmal working conditions they were forced to endure.

@davidscritchfieldds Exactly. Dogs are attention whores who will automatically place their owner at the center of their universe, no matter who. Even if they mistreat the dog, the dog will stay blindly devoted, it's actually kinda pathetic, lol.
But cats? They don't really need you. They can catch their own food, can survive outdoors in most weather conditions, and they clean themselves. They choose to love you; choose to bond with you for life. And they won't bond with everyone, so the person they choose is very, very special. Kitty love is very deep and pure, and extremely loyal. Dogs aren't loyal. They'll throw themselves at literally anyone and will switch alliances in a heartbeat if someone else gives them food or a tummy rub.
All of the kitties I've ever owned throughout my life were just the sweetest, gentlest, biggest snugglebugs so. 💜 They're so unfairly treated, it truly breaks my heart. Cats are such amazing creatures. They deserve to be just as worshipped in our society as dogs are! Cats rule and dogs drool! 😂

"So the train mov’d slowly along the Bridge of Tay,
Until it was about midway,
Then the central girders with a crash gave way,
And down went the train and passengers into the Tay!
The Storm Fiend did loudly bray,
Because ninety lives had been taken away,
On the last Sabbath day of 1879,
Which will be remember’d for a very long time.
It must have been an awful sight,
To witness in the dusky moonlight,
While the Storm Fiend did laugh, and angry did bray,
Along the Railway Bridge of the Silv’ry Tay,
Oh! ill-fated Bridge of the Silv’ry Tay,
I must now conclude my lay
By telling the world fearlessly without the least dismay,
That your central girders would not have given way,
At least many sensible men do say,
Had they been supported on each side with buttresses,
At least many sensible men confesses,
For the stronger we our houses do build,
The less chance we have of being killed."
~ William McGonagall, the worst poet who ever lived.

@gothamsmostwantedclownbitc7107 Being dead doesn't magically absolve anyone of their misdeeds. Have you seen his texts? I have, and Travis was absolutely toxic and abusive. They both were. He straight up admitted in texts and in a phone recording that he'd r@p€d Jodi by penetrating her when she was asleep, and said how much of a turn-on it was to force himself on her. He would text her at 3 AM demanding she read an email he sent, then called screaming at her when she didn't do it right away cuz of course she didn't, it was the middle of the damn night. He constantly berated her, insulted her, and spoke of her as if he despised her, only to turn around and begin happily sexting her hours later. He said a lot of messed up stuff, but we'll never know the true context of it all, as Jodi is even MORE messed up and nine kinds of untrustworthy.
Just because he wasn't a sparkling example of a decent human being doesn't mean he deserved to be murdered, but it's disingenuous to say that he was a saint simply because he's no longer with us.

Sadie Smiles I read an interesting hypothesis about why the 70s seemed to have such a huge spike in serial k_llers and r@p_sts that hasn't been seen before or since. In the 40s, 50s and 60s, leaded gasoline was the standard. They didn't think that the air fumes from car engines would pose any public risk, but now we know better. The children born in that era would have been the ones most affected, as their brains were still developing. One of the symptoms of lead poisoning is a drastic change in personality, leaning towards soci0p@thy and vi0lent tendencies. It's the same reason historians speculate why so many Roman emperors were totally cr@zy, like Nero and Caligula. They stored wine in lead decanters back then, and emperors drank a LOT of wine.
It's just a theory, but still a fascinating one. Makes me wonder if the current spike in school sh__tings has to do with a different kind of mass influence, like how we burden our kids with so much stress and added pressure, too much homework, unnecessary medication, etc.
(P.S. Sorry for all the weird symbols and stuff, youtube deletes any comments with any potentially negative language in them and apparently the list of filtered words is nine miles long)

Libertarians have got to be the most deluded people I've ever spoken to. Each time I get into a discussion with one, they give the same taking points without stopping to think about how they'd be implemented in reality. People are flawed. To think that the wealthiest would be altruistic and ensure the welfare of others unable to work like the disabled and elderly is laughable.
We actually used to have a wholly unregulated free market; it was called the industrial revolution. And as you recall it was one of the darkest points in human history as far as rights goes, from child slavery, families starving in the streets, workers exploited and heads of companies not caring one lick about their injured and dying employees. Just image that, only with our food suppliers, medicine makers, auto builders, engineering firms, schools, professional day cares...

I disagree, for many reasons. The whole free market concept is good on paper, but that's where it stays...on paper. In practice, one would have to assume that all business owners 1) started from an even, fair point, and 2) that business owners would be fair, just, and honest. Well, we know for a fact that neither of those is true in the real world.
As for getting rid of all equality laws, no thanks...Unless you're telling us that you approve of child labor, slavery, and the inability of women or minorities to vote or own property.

JRMCNEA I never said I was any better or worse, only that I empathize with this girl and others who develop dangerous eating disorders and whatnot. And I'd be lying if I didn't feel like sort of a failure, despite the fact that I went on to have a very successful career in another industry. It's just the mentality that sticks with you. You have no idea how vulnerable it feels when a client literally has you stand in your underwear and slowly does a 360 around you, making "hmms" and whatnot, making live commentary on how ugly your butt would look in his designs, or how big my nose was, or that my legs were misshapen, or whatever.
As bad as clients can be though, agencies are the worst. They'll call you out on your flaws and pick at them constantly because they know the less secure you feel, the further you'll be willing to push yourself in order to continue getting work and making them money. With me, I weighed 104 and they said I had a "beer gut" and wanted me to reach a goal of 95 (my healthy weight is 120). So even at my thinnest I'd always try to cover my stomach with my arms during family gatherings and such.
There was a guy I knew who had patchy facial hair, and his agency threatened to drop him because a client wanted him for a shoot, but wanted a "stubbly look", and he had to tell them that yes, he'd find a way to somehow will hair follicles into existence on his face, even though it's something out of his control and could have easily been fixed in post. It's ridiculous, and it's no surprise that a lot of former models wind up becoming drug addicts or batshit crazy.
"Then why not just leave"? When you're first offered a job with an agency, you feel amazing, like you could be famous, you made it in Hollywood, important people think you're worth something! And it usually happens when you're in your teens, who, let's face it, make stupid decisions. But you stay because of the constant abuse and the desire to make it, you know? You get beaten down to the point where you feel worthless, and the agency is the only thing allowing you to continue earning money, despite the fact that you're "ugly". So you stay, because you feel that no one else would ever want you for anything else.
Sorry for the text wall, I just needed to vent and explain a few things to the detractors...if anyone actually read it, hooray, gold star!

I don't think I have ever loathed anyone as much as Anthony Todt, but at the same time I am eternally grateful to him. If not for his obscene amount of arrogance, he might not have thought he could fool everyone into believing that the laughably transparent persona he is clumsily trying to project was his real self.
So thank you, Tony, for your narcissism, for now the whole world sees you for what you truly are. Millions of people now know you are a coward, a failure, an incompetent, and a weak, weak little man.
The truth hurts, doesn't it, Tony?

@tater4ever The problem with that is, you can copyright a knitting pattern, but you can't prohibit the sales of items made using that pattern. Same with clothing designs, they're selling cheap knockoffs using photos of the real deal. And the photos my fashion designer friend used on her site were taken by a professional photographer, who has to be the one to submit the claim, not her.
As for me, no, I unfortunately didn't copyright my illustrations cuz it's like $85 just to file one application, so if I did that for all of my work it would be thousands of dollars. And even then I wouldn't have the money to go after some Chinese reseller who stole my art for their phone cases. I could go after Etsy itself, but again, it's expensive to do so, and Etsy knows it. They rely on us small artists not having the funds to take legal action.

Epilogue: Ted's brother David did in fact receive the $1,000,000 reward for turning his brother in, and he donated it all of it to the victims and their families. What a great guy. 💜
He and one of the victims, Gary Wright, became best friends after the trial ended. Even to this day, they still go to each other's speaking engagements to support one another. A bittersweet ending, but I'm glad that two of the people who were the most severely affected from Ted's actions found peace in each other, and formed a close bond to help heal and move on.
As for Ted, he's miserable. He chose to accept a guilty plea for life in prison as opposed to the death penalty, because the court-ordered psychologist formally diagnosed him with several mental disorders. He tried to hang himself in his cell with his own underwear because he'd rather die than admit to being crazy and compromise his principles, yet that's exactly what he did when he eagerly accepted the plea deal to spare his life. So now he languishes in prison, angry, bitter, and ashamed because he betrayed his own moral code, the thing he held most dear, to save his bacon. He hates himself for it, and he'll spend every day hating himself for a good, long time.

Grant Amato has the world's most punchable face. I hate how he just sits there with that bored look on his face, completely unmoved as his brother pours his heart out on the witness stand. Just look at him, copiously scribbling down notes as if his thoughts actually matter. Trust me Grant, they don't. Nothing that comes out of that bulbous, bald head off yours has any value.
Imagine being a grown man in your late 30s, "running away" like a child simply because your parents want you to contribute instead of playing video games all day. Imagine having a family who financially supports your lazy, unemployed arse, who pays to bring you along on lavish trips, buys you expensive video game consoles, and bails you out of trouble for your repeated criminal actions. But instead of being grateful, you act like you're entitled to all that, and throw tantrums cuz they won't let you have unfettered access to their bank accounts to waste all THEIR money on YOUR fake girlfriend. 🤦🏼♀️
I just, I can't with this conkwocket.

@TheTwinFiles It's almost never out of the blue. I guarantee there were signs this shipmate showed that were blatantly ignored, because other men just don't see those signs as problematic.
Signs like, a hateful opinion of women, or certain sexist comments said when there are only other men present, or a previous history of violence and abuse. Guys tend to overlook this stuff, and then are somehow surprised when their buddy turns out to be a monster.
Myself and most other women I know have been in at least one abusive relationship. Without exception, every time one of us tried to reach out for help, his guy friends wouldn't believe us. "Well, he's never been like that around me." "He and I go way back, I know he'd never do that." And my favorite, "Hey, so I asked him if he did it and he said no."
Another example involves my ex who worked at Rocksteady game studios. He was best friends with the girl who publicly released that document full of signatures from female employees, saying they'd experienced s. harassment. He flat out said he didn't believe her. This thing had dozens of examples of gender discrimination, including her own, and my ex just flat out accused all of them of lying, despite only barely knowing the alleged perpetrator. My ex believed him over his best friend, and the 30+ other women all backing her up with similar stories.
TL;DR, The warning signs are always there. It's just that people refuse to see them until it's too late.

This is one instance where I agree with your point, but not your argument, Kyle. I hardly think "depression" is cause for a reduced sentence. Being really, really sad isn't an excuse for murdering someone. Mental retardation, something you are born with, could be, arguably. Schizophrenia...ehhhh, that's pretty grey. If you can prove they willfully went off their meds and then went nuts and attacked someone, then they're still 100% at fault.
EDIT: Yes, I know that clinical depression is different than "being sad". I was using hyperbole, and for that I apologize. But my original point still stands, depression is simply not an excuse nor is it a valid defense for murder. Certainly not one that would allow the perp to go off scot-free.

I know, it truly is appalling. There's an unsolved case where a woman was screaming and pleading with people to help her as she was beaten and abducted in a crowded area. Everyone just stood there and watched as she was violently forced into the car by the man and carried off in his car. To this day, she has not been identified.
Or that incident where a man was shoved onto subway tracks, several minutes before the train was due, and the same thing happened. He cried and begged, but no one did anything but stare at him for several minutes until he was struck and killed. Even here in the comments, a guy spoke of a similar situation, and as he was screaming he heard several neighbors close their windows. I myself experienced the same thing when I was assaulted. îPeople are the absolute worst, no one will help you in a crisis, especially here in the US.
The unofficial motto of this country is "f you, I got mine". The lack of empathy and sheer selfishness of the people here is absolutely sickening. I know, it truly is appalling. @VioletJoy They thought he had a severe head injury. They were just as doting on their older son when he was in the hospital, any good parent would do the same. And no parent wants to believe their child's entire life is a lie.
If they were such awful parents as you claim, then the older son wouldn't have turned out to be the responsible, successful man he became. After all, did you know them? Did you witness how they raised their sons spanning several decades? Nope. The only direct interactions between them we have been shown were during the time Chandler was "suffering" from his "head injury". Their treatment of their son was totally understandable, given the circumstances. I think you're judging unfairly with the full benefit of hindsight, something they did not have the luxury of.
My heart goes out to Krista in particular. Bart's brother said that she was a doting, involved mother, always building up her sons and helping to nurture their hobbies and interests. One might call that overzealous, but hardly babying them. It's only natural she behaved the way she did towards the end, from her perspective, her son was profoundly disabled. She was so proud of him for all he'd achieved despite his handicap, and it's heartbreaking that she never had a chance to find out it was nothing but deceit and manipulation. She died heartbroken and confused, struggling to understand why her sweet little boy was killing her.
So maybe you should have some empathy and not shi† all over the memory of two kind, loving people who were murdered horribly by their wretched son.

Well... she did. Look, Sarah is a monster, but it's ridiculous to deny that Jorge wasn't abusive or toxic in any way. He mooched off of Sarah's ex, didn't work, drank all day, and when it came to Sarah he gave as good as he got. Multiple people have confirmed this. His former roommate explicitly described him as "terrifying".
What y'all are doing is called the perfect victim fallacy. You don't want to grapple with the moral conundrum of feeling such an outpouring of sympathy for someone who by all accounts, wasn't exactly a good person. You also don't want to give Sarah an inch by accepting that Jorge did in fact abuse her, just as she did to him, because you think it makes her sympathetic. I assure you, it doesn't.
Accepting Jorge's faults do not make him any less deserving of justice. Frankly, I think it's a bit disrespectful to him and his family to deny who he is, because you're essentially tossing aside the real man to be forgotten in favor of an idealized fake version of him. I choose to remember the flawed man he was, not some character that looks better on paper. Well... she did. @denastrackeljahn1250 This never happened when I was in school. Never. Now, it's as common as rain. But because it's America, no one will ever address the real issue, which is knowing how gun happy you all are. Here in the UK it took one shooting to pass heavy gun restrictions. One. And there hasn't been a mass shooting here since. Even in heavy gun countries like Sweden, they still know better, and have many, many restrictions on gun ownership. I NEVER want to return to the US, and that's a main reason.
It's gobsmacking to me to see Americans talk about "saving the children". You don't care one iota about saving children, otherwise you'd do the right thing and take the necessary steps. But you don't, because you care more about ending human life than the lives of your own kids. Funny how the people who claim to be "pro life" are the ones who are the most bloodthirsty.
(I mean "you" as in Americans in general, not you specifically, hope that's clear.)

swadlol Photography sessions usually last all day, for 10-12 hours or longer. Runway shows are even more intense, as rehearsals must be done, and our bodies are literally sewn into the clothes where we stand, which takes a long while. During that entire time, the model is on her feet and putting on a performance. Yes, performance. Hitting certain cues, taking direction, changing your expression to convey any emotion in an instant, etc. It's a lot like acting in that sense.
One of my biggest shoots was back in 2003 for a well known body modification magazine. They flew us to Vegas, where a professional piercer stuck about two dozen holes in my back and laced my skin up like a corset.
But clearly, I have no concept of hard work or job related stress. Clearly.

Robert Smith How so? Well, let's see: "This is called framing the narrative and something feminists do all the time." "Pussy worship breeds gynocentrism, and leads to the current inequity of laws against men, whilst feeding entitlement in modern women." "men should be treated as equally valuable in society, and not just as disposable slaves." You're wearing your heart on your sleeve here, dude. Oh, and also claiming anyone who disagrees with you on something is a bigot? Not helping.
This was a funny story of how I got dumped in WoW, which, let's face it, is equally sad and hilarious. This is not the place for proselytizing, intolerance or accusation. It's kinda obvious that you have issues with women, and for that I'm genuinely sorry. But that's not my fault, nor is it my problem.

That poor man was forcibly removed from everything he's ever known, his entire life, his family, his familiar surroundings, everything. He had
nowhere to go, no money, no prospects, no place to even spend the night. How dare you.
Imagine you had a bunch of SWAT agents rush into your house in the middle of the night, put you in a jail cell, then shoved you off to another country you haven't even visited in decades let alone lived there, with absolutely no possessions or people to turn to? What the hell would you do? What COULD you do?

Sweederland Johnson All I can say to your E.T. crap is the same thing Neil DeGrasse Tyson says. Chimps are only 2% removed from our DNA, yet that paltry number gave us Einstein, Mozart and Da Vinci. For all we know, the aliens we meet could be 2% removed from us in the same way. I get that. So far, so good.
But, I'm sorry, although I fully support humane slaughter and the abolishment of factory farming, to compare a chicken to an orca whale, a creature that we know is one of the smartest creatures on Earth and feels emotions more deeply than even we do, is ignorance incarnate. It's the emotion that factors in more than intelligence. I raised chickens my entire adolescence. If they feel emotion, I've never seen it. Ducks, yes. Pigs, yes. Cows, yes. But not chickens.
They're also dumb as a post. They do feel pain, and so I am in agreement that we should not make them suffer. But if I had the choice to rescue a chicken vs an orca whale that was being tormented, and could only help one, I'd go with the whale.

My friends and I got swamped by a bunch of cops once. About five cars came screeching up as we were walking home from a shopping trip, guns drawn and everything. They told us to get on the ground and we complied, and they cuffed us BEFORE they even asked a single question.
Turns out there'd been a call about some teenagers going around and tagging a bunch of people's homes and they thought we were them. Even though we were clearly in our late 20's. And all but one of us was a woman. And we were walking in broad daylight. Because logic. And even if we were the perps, five cars and drawn guns for some stupid kids with spray paint?!
So here we are, cuffed and sitting on the grass, with a dozen cops looming over us and sternly asking us who we were and what we were doing out...again, in broad fucking daylight. Oh, and wanna know the best part? After we told them who we were and showed them our shopping bags and receipts, they just told us to keep out of trouble, got in their cars and drove off, leaving us standing there. Not even an apology. What the fuck.

Computer Crazies How does carrying a gun make you "more american"? Last I checked, being a U.S. citizen made you an american, and as an american, all of us can say anything, anywhere, any time. Guess out of the 27 amendments, you only care about the 2nd. Funny, that.
As for immigration, it already is regulated. Many conservatives I've spoken to want to stop it altogether, which is ridiculous considering you and nearly everyone you know is a descendant of immigrants, maybe even within the last 2 or 3 generations. I bet you can't even pass the U.S. history test immigrants must take in order to gain naturalization status.
We're all in this sinking ship together, whether you like it or not. Pardon me for wanting to treat other human beings like, you know, human beings, regardless of skin tone or orientation.
I know how much you hate that.

Grant Amato only cares about himself. In his mind, anything he does is automatically justified simply because he's the one who did it. He sees nothing wrong with stealing money from his mom, dad, aunt, brother, and best friend, because he doesn't have any money and they do. He deserves to talk to Sylvie, so naturally, he took the money. It's just plain logistics, duh.
Same thing when he stole $2,000 worth of propofol and drugged his patients because he didn't feel like having to deal with them.

He wasn't being sarcastic, he was commenting on how only a human being would be so far removed from nature as to willfully make themselves vomit. But here you go and turn the rage dial up to 11, spew forth paragraph after paragraph of the nastiest language ever, and then hilariously claim that we're the ones who started it. If this is how you react to something so innocent, I really, really fear for how you'd handle something worth getting angry over. And if you get THIS pissed off over someone messaging you, then why are you even commenting on youtube at all?
You need help, dude. Like, seriously...I'm worried for you. You have some real serious anger issues and I hope you go see a therapist about that, like, right now. I mean, my god. You're the type of person we see in the news having either killed a man over something stupid or got themselves shot by the police for being downright psycho.
Get. Help. Immediately.

What I find interesting is that there are similar studies in adults that do show a marked increase in violent thoughts, if one is allowed to "vent their aggressions" first. Two groups, one control, were deliberately exposed to stressful stimuli. The control group was left alone for 5 minutes to calm down, but the second group were given pillows and foam bats to "let it all out".
Both groups were then asked to fill in the blanks on a worksheet containing words with certain letters removed, but still had multiple ways to fill it in. For example, ch... could become "chill", "chase", or a more violent word, like "choke".
In every instance, the group left alone for 5 minutes wrote innocent, even pleasant words. But the other group all wrote violent words describing doing severe physical harm to another living thing.
Not saying this experiment is legit, there's a lot of holes in it, but it is interesting how easy it is to induce aggression in humans. Like the Joker says, "all is takes is one bad day..."

Factory farms are the worst. Please, please try to eat small and local. The keyword is SMALL. The overwhelming majority of family run, small local farms, you can see the animals out in the sunshine, eating grass and being happy. They welcome visitors, they don't try to hide things like the factory farms do. You especially want to look for ones that dispatch the animals themselves, or allow you to do it yourself so you really get to gain the respect for the lives that go into your deli sandwich. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Yes it can be more expensive, it has to be, and you'll have to be smarter about it, but it's worth it. You're not only supporting the small farmers getting screwed by the large corporations that run these factory nightmares, you're getting better quality food that's going to ultimately be better for your health.

I will never get over how barbarically most people act during a disaster. I got so mad hearing the account of that woman who got trampled by another woman.
Yes, I know panic sets in and all that, but I have been in two large scale life threatening accidents in my life, and both times I stayed calm and helped people get up off the ground while evacuating. That's not me being an elitist conkwocket by the way, I am a cowardIy, weak little dumbarse and I'm utterly worthless during a crisis. My point is that if someone as useless as I am can help people off the ground during an emergency, I'm pretty sure most people have the werewithal to do the same.
It's misanthropic af to witness so many individuals sacrifice other people's lives without a moment's thought. I've seen a little old man shoved to the ground by people seemingly determined to throw him under the bus (literally in my case). I've seen husbands abandon their wives and children, and adult children abandon their elderly parents. I've even seen a woman yank a baby back inside a window who was inches away from the outstretched hands of good samaritans on the ground outside, only to thrust her yappy dog into the rescuer's hands instead.
That one really stuck with me. The baby turned out ok, but I often think about that. What if the baby hadn't been so lucky? Imagine not only prioritizing a dog over a helpless baby, but un-rescuing the baby in the process.

Michael Rafferty went on to (allegedly) extort tens of thousands of dollars from his own mother from behind bars. His mom died in 2018 of heart failure, which his family says was caused by the stress Rafferty was placing on her, calling and haranguing her every single day to send more money. Every. Single. Day. He would lie to her and say he needed it as protection money to pay off other inmates.
He just kept piling on more guilt until she'd finally relent and send him further payments: "You can't send any more? Oh, so then I guess you want me, your only son, to die. Well now you can be happy, cuz that's what's gonna happen, and it'll be all your fault. Have fun knowing you're a murderer." "Hi mom, guess what, I'm calling to you from the prison infirmary, I got jumped and beaten within an inch of my life. Yeah, well that's what happens when YOU don't pay the protection money I asked you for. This is YOUR fault."
Even worse, not only did he demand she give HIM the money (which other inmates have said he spent on junk food and other stuff from the prison store), but also send it to other inmates and their spouses so he'd be more popular.
Immediately following the death of his mother, he began haranguing his grandmother for the money instead. He didn't even miss a beat, went right to calling her the day after he learned his mom was gone. His grandmother died within a month of his relentless extortion campaign, also from a stress-induced heart attack.

razzle nipper “The Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.” ~John Adams
“If I could conceive that the general government might ever be so administered as to render the liberty of conscience insecure, I beg you will be persuaded, that no one would be more zealous than myself to establish effectual barriers against the horrors of spiritual tyranny, and every species of religious persecution.” ~George Washington
“Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind, those which are caused by a difference of sentiments in religion appear to be the most inveterate and distressing, and ought to be deprecated.” ~Also George
“History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.” ~Thomas Jefferson
“Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.” ~Tommy J, again
“It is contrary to the principles of reason and justice that any should be compelled to contribute to the maintenance of a church with which their consciences will not permit them to join, and from which they can derive no benefit.” ~George Mason
I got, like, a dozen others. Want me to keep going or...?

*****
That argument is just plain ludicrous, though. Cutting off your legs, obviously, is detrimental to your health. Eating food is not. So by principle alone, your logic fails.
And that story isn't "just read from the internet". It's the prevailing scientific theory on how humans became intelligent, as taught to me as a graduate of biology. Digesting plant matter is difficult, it isn't very nutritious so the animal must eat lots of it, and takes up a large part of the metabolic process, so much of the body's energy goes to the digestive system and not to, say, spending it on building new synapses in the brain. That's why most herbivores are, well, dumb.
Meat, on the other hand, is easily digestible, and is chock full of lipids, proteins and amino acids, all of which are vital for brain development. Not to mention, the act of hunting and catching prey requires cunning. So it's no surprise that the archaeological records show that early humans started to develop rapidly when the onset of large canine teeth began to appear in the skulls of Australopithecus.
But I really wouldn't expect someone who honest to god tries to equate cutting off one's legs as a valid response to a sound argument for an omnivorous diet to possibly understand that. Must be all that energy being siphoned away from your brain.

What they should have done was wait until the cubs were grown, transferred the male and kept the female. THEN bring in the new male. What's so hard about that? Or transfer the cubs, zoos eat up the opportunity to have baby animals! Euthanizing the old male I understand, but the other three just...ugh.
And to you, Cenk, what the hell, dude. A captive-born animal. Oh yeah, let's release him into the wild, they'll be fine! Or better yet, let them tear one another to shreds in captivity, where there's no place for them to run or hide! /headdesk

+Greyghostvol1 Well no, how could I possibly have known that? I can't speak for your history with Proto or anyone else. I'm just saying, I've had friends who are a lot like this, just straight up scream insults at anyone who says they're religious, and it only bolsters their convictions, you know? It's hard as fuck to act calm and kindly in the face of such blatant ignorance or even downright bigotry, but it's the only way you'll manage to change minds.
As for this Cupp chick, she seems like an oxymoron, being a conservative atheist and all. Part of me thinks her spiel on "someday wanting to find faith" sounds like bullshit pandering to her audience because she knows damn well she wouldn't have a career otherwise, but eh, I've been wrong before.

I read an article on Cracked a couple weeks ago written by a cop trying to explain and justify these "behaviors", like saying why cops never go to impoverished neighborhoods, don't deal with reports on loose or vicious animals, etc. I found it disgusting.
That this guy would try to explain away all the shit he did, the way he failed at his job, the crap system he upheld, was an eye-opener. He blamed society as being the reason why he was a shitty officer.
Policemen are fostered in this system, this attitude, where they're taught that they can do no wrong, it's OUR fault, it's OUR problem, not theirs.
Disgusting. Simply disgusting.

@dh510 Imagine that tomorrow, you woke up in a woman's body. You're still YOU, you just woke up this way. You're a man, you know you are, but your 🍆 is gone and you feel very, very out of your element. Wouldn't it feel uncomfortable? Then you get a period, THAT'S gotta feel awful, you have 🍈🍈 that make your old tshirts ride up, they just get in the way and they're kinda heavy, too.
This isn't your body. You're a man.
This is how it feels for every trans person. If anything, science has legitimatized the trans community, because we now know that their brains are built like their gender identity. They are literally a guy brain piloting a female body, and vice versa.
So if anything, decades from now, the only thing that will be looked back upon in horror, are people like you.

Hm, I can understand where you're coming from, but if you look back through history, any time something popular and relatively harmless was made illegal, it sprouted a booming black market rife with violence. Prohibition, modern drug laws, and yes, even prostitution are examples. Before it was illegal, courtesans would advertise themselves openly, they could go to authorities if they were scammed or attacked, and could afford to turn away clients.

It's rather telling that, even in most of our science fiction space travel stories, we still are unable to leave the Milky Way. Star Trek, Star Wars, Mass Effect, Battlestar Galactica, Hitchhiker's Guide, even Dune, are all confined to a single galaxy. It always frustrated me, even though as a scientist, I'm well aware of just how impossible and vast it is. Still, we are one of trillions of known galaxies, countless more undiscovered....why haven't we tried to imagine what could be out there?

The US government doesn't value education, and parents expect teachers to raise their kids for them. When I was a kid in the 80s, my parents taught me my ABCs, how to count to ten, and how to spell my name before I reached kindergarten. They taught me that I had to respect my teachers. I was taught good manners.
The issue, at least part of it, is that my generation and everyone since then, have placed kids at the head of the household, where they learn the world revolves around them. They get an inflated sense of self, because the parents instill that within them by treating them like they're more important than the parents.
Between that and allowing iPads to raise our kids, it's no wonder that this is happening.

@barrag3463 She legitimately thinks she has throngs of adoring fans who all clamor for her release. So she made a GoFundMe to hire a lawyer, setting the goal at $1 million.
.....She raised $5.
Copied from the GFM page, verbatim:
"Qualified Counsel for Sarah Boone:
An attorney who will accept her case, take on her representation, follow her lead, see, accept, and love her for who she is, and what she has accomplished.
An attorney who will ensure that at all stages of proceedings, Sarah feels cared for, confident, positive, safe, secure, well-regarded, admired, attractive, intelligent, artistic, capable, competent, witty, warm, charismatic, accomplished, youthful, charming, adored, certain, and victorious."
Attractive. Youthful. Artistic? She doesn't want a lawyer, she wants a hype man.

Hi, I'm a zoologist with avian veterinary training, and a duck/goose lover. I'm uniquely qualified to say this: there is no such thing as "ethical" foie gras. The reason for this is, foie gras is made of diseased livers. The goal is to bring the bird as close to death as possible before slaughter. The engorged fatty livers make life very painful for them.
Also, they are not "hypnotized" by the bright light. He is merely triggering a predatory fear response. They are motionless because they are trying to be still until the perceived threat passes, but they are far from calm or relaxed.
HOWEVER, as far as foie gras goes, this guy's methods are...not humane per se, but minimizes suffering as much as possible. If people are determined to have foie gras, I hope they support Eduardo, instead of traditional foie gras farmers. Frankly, the old method should be outlawed outright.

I'm a zoologist, and this is NOT ok. At all. This woman is not only putting her life at risk, but the bears, as well. Bears who do this will VERY quickly turn violent if they are not given the food they're after, and sometimes they'll decide you ARE the food. Remember the recent stories about the bear in the convenience store and the polar bear "playing" with the dog? Both of those ended very, very badly.
At best, she's training these bears to approach people for food. That is going to get the bears shot. It's practically inevitable.
So please, as an animal lover, a scientist, and a human being with common sense, I BEG you not to support this woman.

19:40 BULL. Cops have arrested people for WAY less. They take people in just for acting suspicious. They have this guy on theft charges, disruptive behavior, giving false information to the police, criminal mischief, and suspected inappropriate actions towards a minor.
The truth is, cops just don't care. They don't want to do the paperwork, and will only take action once it's too late and the little girl is taken, or when someone threatens a fellow cop.
And that's exactly what happened here. They didn't do anything until he attacked THEM. He can attack any civilian he wants, and the cops won't even investigate. But he went after them, and they immediately went at him with the full force of the law.
Remember that, all you parents. The cops legally have no obligation to protect you and your children, the Supreme Court said so.

@ACooper194 I'm a wildlife biologist, and I'd like to give my input, if you don't mind. It's unclear whether or not the eye contact is its way of finding prey or if it's just a defense response. I think it's both, but as we only have a few scenes of its behavior to go on, it's impossible to say for sure without knowing its anatomy or observing it in its natural environment.
But one thing I'm certain of, is that it's not aggressive. It's scared. Jean Jacket was exploited just as Gordy was, it's a wild animal that we have no control over despite our arrogant assumption that we did. JJ was "fed" and was docile until its trust was broken by being given a fake horse, which injured it. Only then did it see humans as a danger to itself and acted accordingly.
That's what the unfurling of its body is, too - it's a threat display. It's trying to make itself look bigger, and flashing its green eye to startle and frighten away a perceived threat. Jean Jacket's end wasn't a happy one for me, it was quite tragic. I know it can't be allowed to eat people, but it was still an innocent, magnificent creature.

I am a zoologist and I need to tell you, this is NOT ok. Please, I cannot stress this enough, YOU MUST KILL MICE AND RATS IF THEY ARE IN YOUR HOME. THE LAST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS HOLD IT IN YOUR BARE HANDS AND RECORD IT FOR Fμ€KIπG TIKTOK.
Wild mice carry over thirty zoonotic diseases, including deadly ones like tularemia, leptospirosis, LCMV, and rat bite fever, and pretty much all of them have pinworms and fleas that they WILL spread to you if you touch it like this dumb@ss is doing. They are extremely destructive, filthy, fecund, and lack a fully formed bladder or sphincter, so they pee and poop everywhere, constantly. Including in the pasta and all over this guy's skin. He's an idio† for not killing it right away.
He BETTER have killed it, too. Releasing them will only cause one of two negative outcomes: either it comes right back into the house and continues chewing on the electrical wiring and contaminating your home including all your food (he needs to throw out his entire pantry, which I highly doubt he did...the odds are good there are diseased feces in most of it), or it will slowly starve and die. Mice and rats live their entire lifetime within the same smallish area; remove them from it and they cannot survive. They don't know where to go to find food or water, and if they're lucky, they'll get eaten before they starve to death slowly and painfully.

Are you surprised? This is what they always do. No matter the victim, be it man, woman, or child. Doesn't matter how obvious their stalker/abuser/grapist is breaking the law to terrorize them, I've personally witnessed cops get angry at a grape victim, graped by her stalker, saying "well what do you expect us to do about it maam, we didn't witness him doing the act." This was after countless police reports my friend had filed, several times he was still in the area when she called. They did nothing.
He put her in the hospital. Cops STILL did nothing. She ended up moving across the country to get away from him and cut contact with everyone she knew, including me, to get away from him.
The cops only care when it's their own getting attacked, or if the victim is dead, so they can look like the heroes by bringing the murderer in. Doesn't matter that they were only killed because of the cop's refusal to take action dozens of times over.

She legitimately thinks she has throngs of adoring fans who all clamor for her release. So she made a GoFundMe to hire a lawyer, setting the goal at $1 million.
.....She raised $5.
It gets better. The GFM page is gone, but there are screenshots. This is what was written, verbatim:

I'm so sick of dog owners thinking that rules don't apply to them, because Dog. Dogs are dumb, they'll leap headlong into anything. Like the "dog suicide bridge", there is a large population of rats and squirrels at the bottom. Hundreds of dogs have jumped over the side eager to kill the rodents, because dogs are simple creatures of pure id and will act without thinking whatsoever. Once again, unleashed, untrained, yet the dog owners blame the bridge.
As far as I'm concerned, anyone stupid enough to jump into boiling water after their untrained, unleashed dog that you decided to bring into a park knowing it's forbidden, is a Darwin Award.

I have PTSD. By boyfriend has OCD. It sucks, but we're trying, and we both understand that the world isn't going to change to make life easier for us because of our afflictions. Why these attention-seeking conkwockets on youtube and tiktok think having mental illness makes you "quirky" and "mysterious" is infuriating to me. I wouldn't sentence my worst enemy to spend even five minutes inside my head, and yet here are these blue-haired Tumblristas lying about having it, cuz apparently they think having it means they don't ever have to face consequences for their actions.
Autism, mental illness, addiction, and what have you, does not absolve you of the bad things you do. End of. Faking having a mental illness to get attention, escape consequences, or control others, is nine kinds of disgusting and you are an objectively awful person for doing so.

Is this the story of the bank robber who blew himself up?
Edit: Darn, it's not. But for real, you GOTTA cover that story, it's nuts! This dude was a victim with a bomb strapped around his neck, told cops the real robbers hijacked his car and locked him in that thing, saying they'd blow him up if he didn't comply.
Well, it turns out he was in on it, the robbers told him it was a fake bomb, but they lied so he'd put it on. It was real, and he couldn't figure out how to disarm it...and neither did the cops. The guy panicked and told him the whole scheme he and his buddies had planned, begging to the police to save him, but it was on a timer and there was nothing they could do.

@Ashley Gibson How is that any better, exactly? She's just sitting there blatantly validating this putrescent human being, agreeing with him and making him think he's in the right. If she DOESN'T agree with his racist opinions, that's even worse in some ways, because that means she knows what he did was wrong, she knows it's evil, yet is making the willful decision to support him anyway.
And yeah, she testified, so what? She didn't have a choice! They weren't married, she wasn't protected by spousal privilege. You don't get brownie points for doing what you're legally obligated to do. In the interrogation room, she is well aware there are eye witnesses and security camera footage. What good is it to her to lie? If she lied, she'd get arrested. Since when was anyone a good person for just telling the truth, something that's baseline, absolute bare minimum of basic human decency?
She didn't say a peep until they were caught and brought in days after the fact. Until that point, she was happy to aid and abet a fugitive. She never called the police, even after he left her alone in the house. She had the perfect opportunity to do so in that moment, but she didn't, because she wanted him to get away with it just as much as he did. Don't say it was fear of him either, cuz she stayed with him for three years, and even after he was arrested and had no way to hurt her, she still dutifully called him in prison to stroke his ego and reassure him that he was totally justified to shoot those kids. So stop acting like Rhonda's a good person, she quite clearly is not.

Death is an odd thing. I'm sure we're not the only species who thinks about it, but I do think we're the only species who invented the concept of religion or the afterlife.
Personally, I am atheistic, I am a scientist and I find it odd that anyone could look at this flawed world, with flawed creatures, based on suffering, all life spending its existence struggling against the environment and against one another, and think ANY deity exists, let alone a kind one. Anyone who understands how the biological world works would think that if there was a deity out there, it is either sadistic, or insane.

We have this fancy new thing called "carbon dating". Oh, and fossils. And a new-fangled invention called rocks. We have a pretty darn good bead on the Earth's history based on these three things. Evolution is not a hypothesis. If anything, creationism is. A hypothesis, by definition, is a thought, an idea, that has not been proven, and in the case for creationists, never will. A theory, in scientific terms, IS FACT. Just because a word has multiple meanings doesn't mean you get to choose.

I'm just astounded at how s†upid he is. He kept his mother's phone in a shoe just begging for the cops to find it, left a skull fragment in the fireplace, left the shell casings, used peroxide to clean up the blood instead of bleach so it could still be used for DNA testing, left the bloody rags in the house, forgot to turn off his tracking app so his gf could see him dumping the , and didn't even clean off the tools he used to dismember the bodies.
He was so monumentally lazy in life, playing video games all day and demanding to be chauffeured around, fed, and put to bed like a child. He did anything to avoid getting a job, putting in monumental effort into perpetuating the lie, but still sitting on his butt to do so the entire time. He even talked to his dad as the "guidance counselor" not bothering to disguise his voice.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's such a lazy, incompetent buffoon, cuz he made it ridiculously easy for him to get caught. But his sheer lack of forethought and utter incompetence make me facepalm.

I am so sick of hearing these FA types saying skinny shaming is ok because fat shaming is so much worse. I used to model, I was a very sickly 100 pounds. Last year, I was 205. I'm now down to 175, nowhere near my goal weight, but as someone who's been on both ends of the spectrum, no, there is no such thing as "acceptable" body shaming.
My thought is, no one should be shamed for their size. Period. You should love yourself, no matter how you look. But loving yourself also means taking care of your body, your vessel. I'm down 30 pounds in the last six months, and all I did was go for walks in the evening, and cut out a lot of processed foods. I still eat some, but I try to make everything else from scratch. Pasta, tomato sauce, jams, jellies, bread, cake, burgers, etc. I'm not sacrificing anything, but I don't hurt as much as I used to.
I don't need a "motivation", like a wedding deadline to fit into a dress, cuz it's not about looks. It's about health. I feel great, the weight loss was just a side effect of living a healthier lifestyle.

Gotta love all the BPD people in the comments getting big mad cuz they'd rather silence Thoughty2 and anyone else bringing up the objective reality regarding this disorder, than face that reality and have an open and honest discussion about it. How can you whine about a "stigma" when by refusing to allow even the mere mention of typical symptoms of BPD, you yourselves are perpetuating said stigma?
I have CPTSD, which is often misdiagnosed as BPD, but guess what? I fully acknowledge that my behavior can be harmful to others if I don't stay mindful of it. And I sure as heck don't get all defensive and deny that these behaviors can be difficult if not flat out toxic, because I am fully aware that they can be.
Having BPD doesn't automatically make you a bad person, but it does mean a lot of your behaviors can be toxic and even abusive if you don't keep yourself in check. Emotional outbursts, extreme mood swings, and taking drastic measures to prevent rejection are all classic signs of BPD, and can all be mentally damaging to the people around you. Denying any of those traits and getting angry when anyone else even mentions them, tells me you're one of the toxic ones to avoid, because you won't even acknowledge these traits, let alone try to seek treatment or be mindful of yourselves.
It's YOUR responsibility and yours alone to rein in your behavior and put forward a positive example of someone with this disorder. Stop trying to censor others just cuz your ego got bruised.
