@jakubsevcik1392 True. You have a valid point. But my impression is that Canadian WW2 troops were virtually all very young men whereas today Ukrainian men up to age 60 seem to be involved in fighting the war. And I'm pretty sure that today the percentage of Ukrainian troops who are women is much higher than the percentage of Canadian WW2 troops who were women (though of course in WW2 many women including Princess Elizabeth were serving in support roles in the military). So today's Ukrainian military is drawing on women and older men much more than was the Canadian military of WW2. It's also the case that during WW2 about half of Canadians lived on farms producing food needed not only for Canada but also for Britain and were needed to keep producing food. I don't know the munbers for Ukraine today but I'm sure that a lot fewer than half of Ukrainian men are working on farms, especially since Russian attacks and minefields have made farming impractical or impossible in much of Ukraine.
