@s.tagerius2514 Marriage reflects what we observe in nature: That it takes one man and one woman to create a child, not two men, not two men and one woman, just one man and one woman. Marriage is therefore natural.

Otherwise we would see non-human animals getting married" That's true, but we implimented marriage to reflect it because we're capable of understanding it's importance, animals do not. "Sexual relationships between two animals of the same sex are not the only ones which exist in nature, meaning that they are natural" Natural yes, as they exist in nature, but not intended by nature to occure. "reproduction is not the sole purpose of sex in nature" Every sex act of the male ends with the ejaculation of semen, therefore all sexual acts are intended for the purposes of reproduction.

That's like saying cancer is intended to occure in humans because it sometimes happens, and yet the intended state of a human is perfect health, evidenced by the fact that the majority are, or is cancer a way of decreasing population in your view? And sex-same animals don't have sex, they perform sodomy in the rectum, which is not intended to be done, evidenced by the damage it can cause and it being incapable of bringing forth conception. If that's the case then we wouldn't expect to see cases of homosexuality in sparsely populated peoples, and yet we do. "to prevent certain individuals from having children so as to allow them to care for pre-exisiting children of their heterosexual siblings" There is no reason why it exists other than it being a mental defect cause either by pre-birth or post-birth environmental factors; which causes people to be attracted to that which is not conducive to nature. "cancer is a harmful illness, whereas homosexuality is beneficial" How can it be beneficial when it denies the person the ability to enjoy sexual relations with the opposite sex, which is intended and designed to lead to procreation?

@s.tagerius2514 "The probability of a child being homosexual increases with every successive child given birth to" I'm sure the probability of having a child born with a club foot increases with every successive child given birth to as well, that still doesn't prove it was intentional. Also, if this was the case, then we wouldn't expect to find first born children and children without siblings being homosexual, and yet we do, and we also wouldn't expect to find large families without homosexuals, and yet we do. "Homosexuality may not be as common, but it still serves a purpose in nature and therefore is not a defect. Not everybody is meant to have relations with the opposite sex" You could make that argument for people who are infertile, but even then infertility is a just a defect. And the fact that gay men can still reproduce proves your theory wrong.
