A happy slavery or a sad liberty, which is worse? Being a child is a happy slavery, but when we reach a certain age, that happy slavery becomes a burden to the soul. We instinctly know that in order to grow as an individual we must fly the nest. At first this is a sad liberty because the comfort of our childhood is over, but we know that the only way to grow is to accept and embrace the sad liberty of adult responsibility, which comes with the possibility of failure, but if successful, consequently turns to a happy liberty. So the whole purpose of free will is growth. But of course this is only because WE freely chose duality over the garden of Eden, we flew the nest. The whole purpose of Christianity is to, once again, become a happy slave to Christ, but this time it's by our own volition.
