  1. We need them now more than ever. Also, prohibition doesn't work, all that happens is you end up creating a totalitarian police state to 'keep the public safe'. Instead of keeping people as perpetual children, try turning them into responsible adults.

  2. Very true, but should we ban cars because of a few irresponsible drivers? Or should we just train people in how best to drive safely? Keeping people as perpetual children doesn't solve the problem, you simply shift personal power and responsibility to the state.
