If someone i know was dying and an atheist said to me something like: "I'm thinking about you at this time", or "I hope they get better", i wouldn't retort: "What use is there in thinking about me?" or "What is hope going to achieve?", no, i'd say "thank you". Prayer by Christians is just another way of saying:"I'm thinking about you at this time" and "I hope they get better", so there's no need to be dick about it.
