  8. The idea that our gun laws have stopped school shooting is ridiculous. School shootings have always been rare in Britain, so to attribute the lack of shootings to our heavy-handed gun laws is wrong. Britain still has 5 million legally held firearms, which shows that people can be responsible with firearms.

  10. It's true though, none of these people have really thought their position through. I'd like to hear a solid argument as to why the vast majority of people should be punished for the crime of a very few. This is just the emotional ramblings of a teenage girl with no clear understanding of rights and responsibilities.

  11. @Callum Penman, More people die in road accidents than firearms in Britain, and yet we still don't ban high-powered sports cars. Instead we try to increase training and personal responsibility, not penalise everyone who owns a fast car, same approach should be with firearms, not just banning everything and turning us all into children.

  12. With all due respect, the emotional grieving relatives and friends of the recently slain are not in the right frame of mind to be making political demands on gun ownership. They should be grieving in peace not paraded in front of the cameras to be exploited for political gain.
