  10. This documentary was produced in the early 2000s, since then the claim of Syphilis has been challenged. So actually George was right to be skeptical and cautious, afterall, he's an expert in the field, whereas you just watched an hour long documentary then claimed to know it all.

  14.  @daragildea7434  Where's the evidence that they 'refused' to publish? Perhaps there was another reason. And maybe there's a perfectly good reason why the rest hasn't been published. Not publishing something does not necessarily imply that they are keeping secrets.

  39. So not mentioning someone is proof that they didn't exist? Nonsense. They obviously didn't believe Jesus was the messiah and probably thought he was a heretic. Also, early Christianity was heavily persecuted by the Jews, so why would they write anything about him?

  40.  @Itsatz0  He did miracles, but he challenged the authority of the ruling preisthood, which override his miracles in their eyes. He was branded a heretic, and when you get branded a heretic you fade into obscurity amoungst your enemies. The Romans put him to death and had to time for Jewish prophesies, and judea was in the far reaches of the empire, not roman scholar would be there to record events. We only know about Jesus because his Apostle taught despite being persecuted for it.

Their attempt to paint the Friars as greedy, lustful drunkards was in extremely poor taste. Also, the Syphilis victim could be a late burial at the site, afterall, the monastary was in operation until the mid-1500s, he could have easily been buried alongside older burials.
