  5.  @jhunt5578  What is 'common' decency? Every society throughout history has had a common decency, which is now no longer viewed as both common or decent. So what makes you think your decency is the final and ultimate say on what is good and bad? Stop trying to impose your morality onto others.

And you forget that it was other Christians who abolished slavery and made it impossible for other Christians to persecute 'heretics'. You're only looking at this from one angle.

  8.  @janetbeam3087  Well said Janet. What I find ironic about atheism is that if there is no God, then it doesn't matter what anyone chooses to believe in. There's no obligation to not believe in anything. Atheism is self-defeating.

  12.  @tonyarichards5430  I don't support that community, true, but I do support all individuals who happen to be born different. My best friend is an atheist, I've never not supported him. And what I personally believe about hell is irrelevant to an atheist.
