  1. Olivia Cowley Sure. In general, men and women are different, both physically and mentally, therefore both are generally suited to different roles in life. There are always exceptions to the rule of course, and the system should allow for deviations from the general norm if we are to live in a free society, however, speaking in general terms, most women do not want to do construction, just like most men do not want to become nurses or teachers. This is due to the fundemental differences (physical and mental) between the sexes, not discrimination, and should therefore be left alone to run it's course in a free society where individuals make their own choices. I believe in equal opportunity for all, but i do not believe men and women are equal, or that they should be forced to be equal either, but having said that, just because we are different that doesn't mean that women are of any less worth than men. Just because women tend not to achieve more than men in the workforce due to their biological limitations, certainly doesn't mean women are of any less importance than men in society. Feminists today view female worth by comparing women to male achievement, this is wrong. The sexes compliment each other, both having strengths and weaknesses which tend to balance each other out. Men are good providers, emotionally stable and reliable; women on the other hand are good nurturers, compassionate, providing stability in a home, and give meaning to life beyond the mundane daily toil. This is my opinion.
