The problem with identity politics is that instead of working on yourself as an individual and molding your identity around truth as you walk along the 'straight and narrow', you simply inject youself into a pre-packaged mold, which requires little effort and can easily be exploited by nefarious individuals. Just observe the slogans these people use on both sides, they just repeat the same things over and over again, they have no original thoughts of their own. If you dare question them or are not as extreme as them, then you become an enemy to them, even if you agree with much of what they say.

  26. I'm just stating an observation. Does any action really matter when the ultimate conclusion is death? If you do something great then your name may live on forever, but what does that matter if you're dead? You may have many children but once your dead you don't get to live through your children, only your impersonal DNA does. What does it matter if the entire world will one day explode and cease to exist? Now don't get me wrong, i don't actually believe that everything is futile, because i'm a Christian. I'm simply stating this to make people think more deeply about their futile love of this temporary world and their lack of concern for the spiritual realm (the real world).

  27. +Dylan Stream, A normal family environment should be preferable over any other, but i've known of many cases where a normal couple waiting to adopt have been bypassed in favour of a homosexual couple. If it's a temporary situation, then fine, but children should always be placed within a normal family enviroment as soon as one opens up, but this doesn't happen. We're now starting to see children deliberately placed in homosexual homes, just to be politically correct and prove a point.

I agree that homosexuals should be able to fulfill their telos, but only within a heterosexual relationship. I don't believe it's an affront to individual rights to not allow homosexuals to make designer babies and play-act at being a normal family; the right of child outweighs the right of the homosexual in this case.

Why should i not be proud of being part of a people that i am part of? Not all of us are globe-trotters, city-dwellers or mongrels. And i can take pride in my heritage and be responsible for it's continuation, it's not an either-or scenario.

Obviously some people take ethnic or racial pride too seriously and make it political, but it's a part of Western civilisation, you can't just ignore it. And it isn't really 'pride', it's simply a recognition and reverence for who we are as a people; this is perfectly normal and natural, and not something to be ashamed of.
