  7. No. A monopoly would be if Apple were the only company to sell computers, mobile device and software. Apple is NOT a monopoly. It IS a strong brand though as consumers will pay a high premium for Apple products.

  8. Regulation is what keeps small business from competing with big tech. Some ppl think it is the other way round but the big tech work with government to create regulation to shut out small business - so less regulation would in fact be better for competition.

Got tilted by the noobz to the market who were the high freq traders/scalpers. Builds a "robot" to manipulate global markets, beating establishment at their own game. Pumps huge sell orders into volatile market, using his cash pile to spoof/flood attack the market....then goes for tea. Got snitched on by fellow day trader proving there is no honour amongst thieves. Unable to post bail, since he got scammed by his own financial advisor who was looking after his profits. Diagnosed with aspergers. Let off, given "time served" due to being helpful to US authorities in understanding market manipulation loopholes and the fact he lost his money and was not tied to a bank. Put under 1 year house arrest, the house where he made his trades, during coronavirus "lockdown", when the entire nation was under a kind of "house arrest". Ends.

  18. Why is it that we prefix internal combustion as "gas guzzling" whilst we prefix electric cars as "clean and green". It is as if these cars magically pop out of nowhere without a huge industry of mining and fossil fuel, backing their creation. p.s. I like both.

  19. The "bad" populism seen in North Korea and Venezuela is not the kind of populism seen in the US and UK. The UK wants to be more global not less - the issue is laws created by un-elected officials with no "skin in the game" (they do not suffer the consequence of bad policy).

  29.  @danielarjona440  Firstly, electric vehicles have been around for a very very long time. They are only just starting to become a viable alternative for many wealthy ppl. They could be a better product, but only if they work better, it is not a given. The market will decide as and when it wants them. The world needs electric cars about as much as it needs any vehicle. There is a huge industry that goes into mining, transporting materials and manufacture of new vehicles of any kind, including electric vehicles. Secondly, I "believe" in hard science, yes. That is, consistent predictable theory. We DO NOT have that with climate change. We cannot even accurately predict the weather weeks, months, years. decades in advance. According to "climate scientists" we should have already ran out of fossil fuel in the 70s and the ice caps should have melted already, oh and we should already have died from starvation. Look, these things can happen and nobody wants these things to happen. The question is how do we go about preventing it? If the thing you believe in is self-evident, then you wouldn't need to use shame tactics. Electric cars are not going to "save" the planet. They will make our cities cleaner places. Which will be great, but rest assured that damn climate will keep changing.
