  7. It is a nice narrative to suggest that bitcoin was born out of or because of the financial disaster but it was simply good timing. The scale of it's adoption however could be attributed somewhat to the financial crash. Most of the technology behind bitcoin has been developed over the last few decades, precisely to solve the global currency and money supply and secure peer to peer money transfer problems. Bitcoin brought these technologies together at the right time when people had had enough with the current 'system' and ready for something new.

  16.  @TooCloseToHome  Yes, Jesus, the main protagonist, who is the archetype model moral man, had "skin in the game", whereas God never had "skin in the game", since God was the Game. So yes, this explains to some extent why the stories from the Bible endure.

  17.  @Adiusa0874  I think you have to be careful turning metaphors into literal interpretations. The trinity is clear. The son is the father is the holy spirit. There is nothing to indicate they are separate although you may interpret them as being separate entities, which would lead to suffering....so the story goes. So, God, never had skin in the game. Rather, God is the gamesmaster if you like or the meta-game (game of games). The thing that is the substrate of reality and the transcendent.

  18. Very naive to suggest that background checks and gun control is 'the will of the people'. The will of the people is to not be killed by maniacs, mental patients. We already have a law against killing. Some people ignore this law. They will ignore laws and checks. Perhaps since the government has no problem with killing then it sets a bad example.

I agree that for the regular investor who is not that interested in business, should index, but I disagree philosophically with indexing in that you are buying a lot a trash companies with crap management, which is rewarding mediocrity. Invest in market leaders and brands that you use and enjoy. Ends.
