  3. It is fascinating that a document as monumental and powerful as the magna carta is predicated upon the idea that the king (ruling elite) is not greater than God. He cannot be an arbitrary tyrant. Interesting since atheist societies descend towards tyranny of the state. We have only really had a few atheist states, Nazi germany, soviet union and communist china.
