I broadly agree, but at13:03 - You state that "state-capitalism" is oxymoronic, which is funny.....But we do not have pure capitalism, or pure statism.
Capitalism does not mean "non-state", it means, the system that uses Capital (money) or capital markets as opposed to state force or warfare.
It is, you might say, moronic to suggest that we have either capitalism or socialism, when we clearly have a mixed economy, a hybrid economy.
We have a social-market. A free market that is state regulated and a social safety net or welfare system. So if you think a hybrid system is moronic, then well, think what you like.

You state that Socialism is "state control of the economy" which is what socialism morphed into.
The reason that socialism is still compelling to ppl, is because they believe the core story is to "socialise" against oppression, or to be "sociable".
The modern twist in the 20th century, was that was not the end of the story, the revolution against oppression, always ended where it began, with tyranny.
Cynical leaders (Hitler, Stalin , Mao) violently abused this sentiment, which was that they turned socialism into "State control of the economy" and packaged it, as if it were "sociable" when it was simply tyranny with a different garb. p.s. I am not saying socialism was done wrong. It is simply that leaders abused ppls intrinsic need to be or be seen to be sociable.

Socialist doctrine always has a call for peasant class to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
The difference, is that it is done by force of the state. Comply or die mantra.
"Real socialism", would be deemed non-political altruism, whereas political socialism is altruism with a gun in your back.
Again, I think you are speaking to the converted here, I don't think you are getting to the heart of the matter, which is, why socialism is so compelling for ppl and fall for same trick over again.
I would argue that beating down on state socialists, will mostly lead to them rejecting your analysis out of hand. It would be nicer, I think, I you built up argument, from a position of pro-altruistic-voluntary socialism, through to the epiphany that political socialism is a purely cynical power play.
