  1. Let's remember, poor CRM did not cause this accident. it might have helped to save them, but was not the cause. Having instruments fail with zero visibility is no walk in the park. It's literally a death sentence that you may or may not recover from.

  2.  @rogerhuber3133  Groups, governments, large corporations and mobs will always seek to find a scapegoat. It's just the way it is. Normally they blame the pilot since they are not around to defend themselves and it saves the expense of doing a proper design review and safety improvements. If you do harm somebody through your actions or lack of action, by malice or negligence or pure accident, they will come down on you like a tonne of bricks. In fact, the more responsibility you take on the more you get paid.

  3.  @lxdimension  yeah by the time they realized they were at over 100 deg bank, and the thrust levers were still wrong remember. Impossible to recover, we are talking about a few seconds from being somewhat in control to unrecoverable (unless they spotted the levers)

  5. they paid a huge price for a mistake plenty have probably "got away" with, but reality hurts. They were simply in denial about having no engines. This led to poor crisis management, and that is after the bad choice in playing around in coffin corner.

  24.  @brucelansberg5485  connecting the dots is standard investigation work, also gathering facts and evidence, using the scientific method of independent teams, investigating, concluding the exact same verdict. In other words, your "theory" has to be able to be independently proven and unanimously proven. Sometimes a scientist or closed group, think they have a new breakthrough, like cold fusion, then the community prove that it is BS. Your theory must stand up to scrutiny, if it doesnt, then it is flawed or simply made up, even if you believe it.

  27. there is a lot to like about airbus, but the cockpit design is terrible, no visual feedback for pilots on where the yoke/stick is or thrust setting. exactly what you need in an emergency is to sanity check the primary controls, to see what they are doing.

  31. This is perhaps the case where, you are given 9 lives, and you blow through them all in short order. Every decision point was flawed, from the unstable approach, gear up landing, indecision about go-around, indecision about taking off again, gear down gliding, descending into dense population.

  44. The thing is, it is the job of the media to tell stories to attract eyeballs to sell papers and ads. They see ppl dying and the common denominator is the 737MAX so they want to attribute blame whilst still feeling comfortable flying. So, rather than accept that stabilzer trim could runaway on any modern aircraft, it feels better to attribute blame to a particular aircraft that we can ground and everyone can go about their daily business once more. The risk is just the same but we feel better that they have built a narrative around MCAS and grounding this plane.

  46. Filming landing with your mobile, when you are supposed to be monitoring the aircraft, has to be one of the most retarded things I have seen in a long time. He will literally never watch the video. Was it worth it? When you are splattered across a mountain?

  50. What is terrible about this incident, is that the cabin crew could have just informed the pilot that he needed to descend. They would have been expecting that, but, the pilots were convinced it was erroneous warning for takeoff config.
