Vitalik is a once in a generation (possibly Millenium) phenomenon, that is able to communicate to all people, without judgment, Russian, Canadian, British, American, European, Asian, they all love the guy. They see the potential of what he is developing. He also does it whilst treading the path of chaos between government order and anarcho capitalism. As far as I can see, he is the closest thing we have to Christ 2.0

Think about this, what is so different, being invaded by a military, or by an army of asylum seekers? (edit: illegal asylum)
Ultimately, they want similar, if not the same thing....
to say, they want to live rent free on your land.
Both ultimately seek to displace you, whether in homes, jobs, means of production, positions of power etc.

I would go a step further, and say, so what if they support Putin,
the correct protest of a country, is not to make them hate you more, the point of sports is avoid politics.
it is to be less like them, Putin massive fan of the pandemic, lockdowns, crack downs, censorship, mandates, sanctions, destroying political opponents etc.
Stop doing these things first. Then you might have a moral case.

Man, what a strange comparison and twisted politcal narrative you seem to be pedalling. If you look at say, Venezula you can see why it is a really bad idea to tether your countries economy to oil. The "private" oil interests are shareholders from all across the globe, who scrutinize the companies and keep their operations as clean and accountable as is possible, which opened up the UK to large amount of foreign investment, that it would not have otherwise had, thus stimulating the economy.
Bearing in mind that we were told peak oil was in the 1970's it was a reckless move to make a country entirely dependent upon one single commodity, namely oil. The UK knew that oil would not last forever, so took steps to slowly move away from oil dependence, playing various energy against each other in order to get the best deal.
Norweigians run a highly protectionist model, without the burden of the EU, had less beuracracy to deal with and cornered a part of sea that it could exploit in an unaccountable way, serving a much smaller populace. If the norweigian model was self-evidently better then others would adopt it.

It's less about the workers wanting to be treated as employees, and more about the government saying to Uber, if you treat your workers like employees, then they are employees. Currently Uber gets to pay them employee wages, without any of the benefits of being an employee, such as a notice period. Why would they require this? Well, if Uber wants, they can jetison their employees at a moments notice, which would then leave thousands of unemployed ppl in the UK. Who then deals with supporting these ppl? The UK gov. So, they are simply taking out "insurance" by requiring that Uber make their employees, and look after them as real employees and not contractors.

"In God we trust"
The concept of commerce, is not that we "trust" in government, but, that we trust in God,
which is to say, the unknown unknown, that is to say, trust in the person I do not know.
Without this trusted third party "God", commerce becomes impossible, which is why totalitarian societies do not trust each other, implicitly.

Avoid waging war with somebody until you are totally self-sufficient and not dependent on them in any way, including the gas pipelines that they control, the fertilizer, the wheat etc.
I mean we are talking really basic strategy here. What has Rus (and Chi) been doing all these years, other than preparing for war? Now, as they target each nation one by one, whilst all you can do is look on in shock and awe.
It takes no time to destroy something but years to build.
What are you going to do, when he turns off the oil and gas? What do you do with any monopoly?
The first rule of war, is look after your own survival and logistics. You only get the luxury of helping others, once you are in that position of self-sufficiency. Until then, you can do all the hand waving you want, the actions you take, will probably make the problem worse.
I am not saying anybody else is some kind of mastermind strategist, but when you live isolated in a nuclear bunker, you make different decisions.

@kingkoi6542 You are half right. People buy Gold because they think that it is a hedge against inflation, when inflation has been less than 2% over the last year, Gold price has gone up, despite the Gold supply increasing by 2%, so everyone has already priced into Gold it's fully diluted supply, and now it is simply a fully speculative market. In fact it has always been fully speculative since Gold produces no cash flows. What I am saying is, the market does not work in the simplistic way you are describing. Every future supply and demand is priced in to today's price, so the only reason why Gold price would go up, is if more people became fearful and instead of buying a new Audi R8, they instead start to buy lumps of Gold. Furthermore, we have no idea how much Gold supply there is as that information is not public.

Make no mistake, this will cause civil war in Russia, if it continues. Putin's cynical world view is stunning to behold, but the chess grand master just played a "fool's mate". So poorly judged, but why?
Because he has become emperor, so he is unable to get unfiltered truth, since nobody is willing to bring truths he cannot handle. Then, as the country fails, he blames it on interference, or lost empire, which is what he has brought on himself in some kind of deranged self-fueling prophetic death rattle. So yes, now the world is conspiring against him, which now justifies him further in aggression.

very simplistic minded, who do you think will buy up the land once farmers have to liquidate to pay tax?
right, so multinationals will buy the land, put solar or industrial grain, or just turn it into concrete, oh and you will have to import all your food, meat, dairy, veg, that you would have otherwise produced, precisely when you need food independence ahead of geo-pol conflicts, tarifs and blockades etc. total short sighted strategic blunder, over an amount that a big bank loses behind the sofa.

@kingkoi6542 Yes, precisely, the Gold market is built upon paper receipts, so the spot Gold price today, is inflated due to fractional ownership. You might say, well I own physical Gold so I am alright! But, the entire Gold market price is built on paper Gold, so your physical is worth whatever the paper market price is, no more. Furthermore, physical Gold has a "cost to carry" which includes security costs and trading physical will cost more due to the friction of verification process.
You can then say, well it's still a hedge against inflation, but if everybody knows it's a hedge, it's already priced in, and you will do no better than cash. The Gold price goes up due to perceived scarcity relative to fiat money supply, which is disconnected from actual inflation. The Gold price is not correlated with inflation - it is speculative.

+Arphemius I think you may be simplistically knocking down religious objective morality with a straw man (deceitful) argument? To be religious is to attain self-mastery, so the man following orders is a low order man, practically an animal man, not a religious man. In that sense, agreed, no better than following laws laid down by the state.
Could you be conflating the collectivist happy clapping religious person who just blindly takes orders from the high priest with the religious man who sees all as one, the universe as one whole?
The ancient texts tell us a philosophy of life, how to live a good life and avoid getting into trouble. When we live, as if, every action were being watched (not literal - it is a metaphor), then our lives get infinitely better. If you need someone to police that and lay down the law then you are not getting it.
The problem with your argument is that history has shown us the only 'civilized' nations have been mostly built upon christian individualist values. Your claims of atheist moral supremacy may well be on shaky ground. Where is your morality spontaneously coming from, just a feeling? It is great that you could invent your own moral code, but where is it similar and different to the christian code of conduct?
Without the Christian value sub-structure upon western civilization is built, are we supposed to believe that people would just not kill each other, for example, without need for a state. The only evidence I have is childhood friends, the atheists houses were cold, unsafe, anti-social and unwelcoming whilst the christian households were warm, welcoming and social. Just an observation. I know there must be exceptions.
Atheists do not have a good track record when it comes to killing, suicide, homicide, genocide, since time and again we arrogantly throw out the ancient texts with a call of 'we can handle ourselves without this rubbish'. Just an observation - happy to be proven wrong.
The problem is some atheists posture and claim to define their own morality but in fact act out the morality laid down by the laws of the land, since they have no self-mastery, self-control, but yet still claim not to kill because killing is wrong, said with a dismissive venom in the voice. Of course, no atheist I know who postures like this, has any issue at all with paying taxes to the state to kill foreign people. In fact, they consider paying taxes to be a virtue which may have something to do with shifting responsibility away from the self.
Just some food for thought. Ta.

Text book physics tells us nothing about how humans or animals behave. In that sense, they are utterly unpredictable. Ok, you could fire a human out of a rocket and predict how far they would travel. In that sense, they are determined. But, if you had gone back 10,000 years and taken a look at human tribes, you would simply never have predicted how far we have come, through sheer "free will" and "determination". That's the point, you need to have predictive models, to prove that the world is fully determined. You can't simply state it as an axiom. If it was determined, it would be fully predictable. I can already hear Sabine saying, well, your desire to self-improve was already pre-determined, but that is just as much philosophical chicanery as any known politician.

@xpsxps1339 I am no big fan of mega-corps, but they do pay exactly what they are "obliged" to pay by law. I assume you could only mean raising taxes, but unaware of the issues in doing that. How do you think they avoid taxes, just not pay them? No, these companies are paying in many ways, just not on profits, because their profits are kept low due to re-investment and only paid in region where tax is low or zero.
The reason they are not kicked out of countries is to the extent they are a net benefit. Not only do they employ people who may otherwise be claiming benefits (taking tax dollars out of the pot), but their employees pay huge amount of tax as income tax, that they would not otherwise be paying. Regarding the unsolved problem, this is not new at all. You are not closing any loopholes any time soon.
My problem with mega-corps is only when they collude and lobby to form oligarchy, min wage laws that only benefit mega-corps, shut down small business, with lockdowns and pricing controls etc.

@volvo09 I agree somewhat, I mean it is harsh, but then it varies state by state, country by country. Sometimes they want to make an example out of you. Note, it did mention he had previous speeding offenses that were taken into account. Put it this way, if you shoot a gun into a crowd, you are not targeting a particular person, but you still kill them, that is murder. It's about reckless abandon and no respect of other life. If you demonstrate you are liable to show reckless abandon, that is punished heavily, since it is as dangerous as intent. You murder 2 people. Well, that is heavy time. I still feel sorry for him.

@kingkoi6542 My point precisely, Gold is a hedge against the expansion of money supply. CPI is true inflation and it is maintained between 1-3% by central banks as too low we have stagnation and zero economic activity (stale mate), whilst, too high, we have hyper-inflation. Why 2%? well that is the number most economists agree on by consensus, and it just happens to be the annual Gold supply inflation. My point again, Gold is not a hedge against inflation, since inflation targets the same number as Gold inflation. If Gold price goes up and down, that is market dynamics of perceived supply and demand, nothing to do with inflation, even though ppl say that is why they are buying, the price bakes all that future supply and demand into today's price.
With regard, to BOE not buying back Gold, well, let's just say, the British pound and the US dollar, which are both loosely pegged, are the only fiat currencies that have withstood the test of time, precisely because they have strict controls that target 2% inflation (the same as the Gold supply increase due to mining activity).
In countries with dictator control and no central bank, they tend towards hoarding commodities and currency devaluation, resulting in hyper-inflation, whilst the unelected heads of state, keep the Gold for themselves, since ownership is 10/10ths of the law. This leaves the statesmen super-rich at the expense of the poor-populace. I know I would rather live in England than Venezuela, why? because, England broadly speaking, understands finance better and does not exploit the citizens except for the 2% "stealth tax" which is inflation, used to pay for key workers and public goods, through issuance of debt in the form of gilts. GBP has value. However, that's not the point. The point is, what people decide money is. I have never seen anyone go to supermarket and buy anything with Gold. Think about why? Gold is a bad currency, that's why. It is too easy to counterfeit and nobody knows how to verify the Gold you have is real. So trade stops. Gold is a bubble too. Remember that.

Regards to world reverting "back to value", well, if all money managers were educated and prudent, then yes, but now every man and his dog have access to financial markets. I expect the big names to rally even harder from here and value to go sideways. I do agree that crypto currencies could play a role in normalizing stock market to lower valuation, but then why would value stocks suddenly start performing when you have so many investing options. Look at Tesla, very poor fundamentals compared with other car manufacturers but now they won over the hearts and minds of the Reddit and RObinHood generation with nearly a trillion market cap and over a billion in Bitcoin, they could actually use that to build some decent products that are almost as good as VW, Audi and Porsche, then they will have the fundamentals to justify their high valuation. p.s I do not own TSLA, but equally I would not "short" it. Same goes for Bitcoin, I would not short even a satoshi.

I like Jimmy and respect the work he has done for Bitcoin community. However, there are a multitude of major problems with Bitcoin, that Bitcoin maximalists either ignore, or brush over, then start attacking other projects in the hope it might take attention away from these core flaws. Firstly, Bitcoin is highly centralized in three ways (1. small number of wallets hold enormous number of BTC, 2. Through the central mining pools, and 3. through the core development team, an exclusive club). Secondly, the power consumption of the Bitcoin network is simply obscene, and for Bitcoin to be taken seriously with the younger generation, who they try to appeal to, they need to address the power consumption problem. Thirdly, Bitcoin, whilst being a "store of value", it is obscenely expensive to transact and slow to do transactions. In short, Bitcoin is good but has a long way to go to be "digital gold" or "money for the internet" or "the internet of money".

@jobokidd What you have to contend with is, it sounds like a good idea, but ...
What I am saying is the opposite, that with UBI or whatever it will be called, you will bring upon economic and social collapse. A better solution would be to reduce everyone's tax by 1k, thereby incentivizing people to show up to do important jobs for society. If your job is not important then perhaps one should leave it.
I watched the guy on Joe Rogan and he seemed well meaning, but as with all these "santa claus, get me into power" programs, the money is not there when reached for.
As for automation, well we have been automating since the industrial revolution. Remember the luddites? from history lesson? A good homework project would be to study social wealth redistrbution programs from around the world and see what the conclusion is. Social welfare should be means tested, that is to say, those who are disabled and elderly should get money from the state ---We already have this in modern states.

+Mac are you possessed by demons? I think what Dr P was saying, was that we can look at the results of his actions to infer his motives, much like we can anyone who comits homicide or genocide. How do you now claim such precise knowledge of what Hitler's goal was? The common theme with all collectivist socialist regimes is that there needs to be a scapegoat, the reason why we are not already living in Utopia, Hitler picked the Jews but that could well have been arbitrary, all group think requires a scapegoat to blame all our problems on, then if we can somehow destroy the scapegoat then we will live in peace. The problem that Hitler, Stalin and Mao ran into, was that, the more precise the regime becomes, the less there is group agreement until there is just one man standing on his own with his own delusional thoughts.

meanwhile, you have traditional crimes, being waved, and instead turning the traditional criminals into a kind of protected class, whilst the new criminal class, is the middle class, i am talking speeding, income taxes, wealth taxes, gains taxes, social media posts etc. all the while you have an overlord class, who seem to be immune, i mean is this the effing soviet union of what?

What we need is critical thinking here, not conspiratorial thinking. You have some facts correct, but are drawing conclusions that fit your politcal narrative. Firstly, the goal of a commercial bank is to profit, yes, but here, we are talking about central banks. Their mandate is to control the money supply, to carefully balance deflationary forces with inflationary forces, aiming for small manageable amount of inflation to stimulate growth, to benefit their country. It is a lot like any close feedback system such as a thermostat. Please understand that arguing against central banks, is to me, like arguing against having a thermostat in your home, sure, you can for a while manage, but will be inclined to swing wildly from too hot to too cold.

@caricue yes, because it seems that once an event has happened, it is now determined, so you conclude, well it had to be determined from the beginning of time, because now it's determined. But, if the future was determined, I argue, it would be fully predictive and that we would have memories and relics or fossils from the future, but that is not how the world presents. Hence, free will, is the scientific rational position, whilst determinism, is a theoretical position only.

@greevar
Hoarding is not something you are largely in control of. If things get cheaper in future then I tend towards delaying everything until tomorrow/next year, this impacts the whole economy, eventually grinding it to a halt. Just because though there are certain things we need to buy daily, they cannot be unpicked from the economy at large. It is not a false dilemma, it is the very heart of the matter. The point is, if the economy is in depression (stagnant money supply), your needs probably will not be met, so although you have money because you were so clever to save it, since things were getting cheaper, through productivity growth, now there is nothing to buy because business has closed because ppl were waiting for things to keep getting cheaper, delaying their purchases as long as they could. The primary goal is to keep the economy going, by growing it very slowly.
Commodities do increase in value over time, when corrected for supply/demand. If supply and demand remain constant, then over time, commodities will rise in value proportional to inflation. That is what we mean by hedge against inflation. Of course there will be daily fluctuations. Scarcity does not make something valuable, per se. Value comes from the agreed upon market price. For example, I have a scrap kettle, that is no longer in production. It may be the only one in the country. However, it has no market value.
There is only one person drinking carbonated beverage here.

Ethics and morals are not lacking in China, the issue is that they blindly derive their ethics and morality from "the glorious state", instead of thinking independently and critically.
Nowhere is immune from this thinking, when you build a bridge, but you are never going to use it, why should you put any effort into making it durable? you will be paid the same either way.
This is the heart of the issue of communism, that, you get the same outcome regardless of quality, so why bother putting in the extra effort or cost?
Once your reputation, as an individual or business is tied to the construction, and you and your family depend on that, you start making the "correct" decisions.
Capitalism is not immune either, since developers go bankrupt, yet their buildings and structures are still with us, and they are not up to the task, not fit for purpose.

@xpsxps1339 1.You are missing the point about corporations being a net benefit to society, they do pay a high price (in tax), if they make huge profits but fail to re-invest them. Not only do they work to eliminate unemployment (full employment is just as important to a state than tax income), but they spend in the economy too. Plus, their employees being fully employed, get to pay tax and spend their money in the economy too. Or at least that is how it should work, if they are going to be a net benefit. Did I mention I am not particularly a fan of globalist mega-corps? (precisely because they can play above the nation state level)
-
2. I understand your points, but again you are missing the main point that a corporation is not simply a private entity (even though it can legally act like one), because, if done right, it is offering society benefits that are greater than the sum of the individuals on their own could produce. Imagine, oh Amazon, if everybody was their own Amazon, that would be incredibly inefficient, so you would end up paying more as the end consumer. When you play these redistribution games, you set up all kinds of unwanted effects. Mega-corps play on this fact, to gain favorable terms, that an individual would not be justified in claiming.

3. Instead of fixating on taxes, look at the broader situation and play through the scenario, that they arbitrarily paid more, tax, you would find that the pot is finite, and that if you put in the laws you are proposing these companies would not exist, but there would be the same amount of money floating around in the system. Yet, there would be more unemployment. Things would cost more. Certain services would be not available or more expensive.
-
4. The anti-trust and collusion is the only thing that concerns me about mega-corps. The WEF is a terribly sinister thing, when you think about how much lobbying power it has. Not to mention unelected, unopposed. Regular companies and corps that choose to re-invest rather than pay tax, I have no problem with.
I would put all attention on this, and net benefits, and forget about taxes. It is what it is.

@nickh5081 If you consume power from a power grid, it will not necessarily comes from your local power plant. Regarding hydro, it's not technically dirty but depends on how much the aquatic life is disrupted, then nuclear, well that's clean until it's not, as we know. It requires a stable political environment into perpetuity to ensure waste is handled properly. The problem is, when a plant is decommissioned, nobody wants to deal with the waste, so it can end up anywhere. If you think that is cynical, then either I am cynical or you are naive, but I do try to transcend cynicism when I can.

i normally agree with douglas entirely, but, it is NOT good, that business leaders are involved in politics, in any way, whether it be endorsments, donations, lobbying whatever,
that is the swamp we are in. Drain the swamp, get private interests, out of government, and tap the oligarchs for cash, not working people.
as for twitter, I have doubts that being a private enterprise, is going to be a politcally neutral public square, even if it is a step up from ppl being cancelled and censored.

Bret Weinstein has a good critique of Dawkins from a perspective of, the meme, is way deeper and religious than Dawkins realizes. Religion is and was a survival strategy, we are co-evolved with.
The meme propagates its own lineage and is literally the "mind virus" that Dawkins is critical of with regard to religion.
Try and break out of meme, create your own tribe, civilization and culture, you will find, the memes just keep coming back even when you flatten the canvas with post-modernism.
I think Peterson is right, that a meme, when tapped is an archetype pattern that goes back to, maybe before the origin of civilization.

Somewhat, but Putin has close ties with WEF, build back better y'all.
If you want to "tackle" the problem, be less like Russia,
Putin, massive fan of the pandemic, lockdowns, crackdowns, censorship, destroying political opponents by having them cancelled.
The biggest "up yours" protest, is to be less like that, less obsessed by big gov and central gov.

@nsj9509 For me, divine, means sacred. I know, it is interesting but here, you don't even need to know what divine means. The point I take from this is, rather than dismiss something out of hand, always ask the reverse, it can be enlightening. I walk into a location, I can sense the lack of the sacred, and I feel in danger. In other words, where the sacred or divine is not respected, safety of life is not respected. It's a survival instinct to sense "the divine" or lack of.

@ActiveAussie2024 yes but it was more about obedience to authority. Attachment to position in the heirarchy was the reward for carrying out the agenda based on top down command and control. In other words, they were literally possessed by the goals of the collective, without thinking good or bad. Morality was defined by the group or collective, thus, the individual simply had to choose do I want to be in the gang or not? Choosing out, would be suicide, whilst choosing in, would mean committing atrocities, talk about a dilemma to be in. The antidote is not getting into a state where you have no freedom of though, speech or action, that is how you avoid all this.

War is often framed as them v us, or England v Germany, or Allies v Axis, or World v Nazis, but it was really,
Individuals v Collectivists
Nazis had better managment, technology, leadership, tactics, every metric ....except they could not fight the spirit of the free man, for each Nazi himself longed to be a free man too.

I was on the fence with sanctions, as it makes you the target of "the aggressor", but hey, you only live once.
Nobody in this day and age, should be living in fear of unaccountable state actors,
if true that, Russia run by mob bosses, keeping their money offshore, then it will start to impact them quite hard and hopefully a regime fall from within.
On the flip side, who gets to decide? who can access international finance, I mean it's just a higher level mob boss no? Also, how will they act on death ground?

nobody is afraid, they are practicing black magic though, which can be too much for some. aka gaslighting. if somebody in perceived authority, keeps saying, you are going to die of this or that, if you dont take my fluid, then inevitably some percentage of people will become really sick. Tribes know about this stuff. It just doesnt work on everybody, but it works on about a third of people, a third of the time, hence, we keep getting repeated messages.

Some nice ideas presented here, I am sure both side believe the centre is the only place to stand, if you want to stay balanced.
Question is, where is the centre?
If we concede the centre is the middle of two arguments, then this can obviously be gamed, for example somebody might want everybody to capitulate to their agenda might say we need to end all fossil fuels and everybody must drive electric cars, which would make the centre, only half the ppl should be made to drive electric cars.
This is clearly not going to work. Even if half the ppl were forced to drive electric cars.
Another would be, somenody might want everybody to become vegan, and force it into law, but being a centrist, you would capitulate to half the ppl forced to become vegan.

@Eviligniter You are right to be sceptical of any "redistribution of wealth" program. But, elected governments have this mandate to compel banks to lend. What has been happening until now, is capitalism for the poor and socialism for the rich. In other words, the big banks have been classified as "too big to fail", because of their systemic importance. In other words, if the banks fail, then we have total anarchy due to how dependent we are on banks. What the "great reset" is trying to address the problems that stem from the financial crisis, namely, that banks were allowed to create money to strengthen the financial system (to ensure it would not collapse), but the money was trapped inside banks and not lent to consumers.
I mean, I am neither for or against this, but it is probably not what you think it is. Socialism is something ppl demand such as BLM and the angry mob. So give them what they want I suppose.

@stumccabe
When you say, we will win.
If you mean, we will defend our history, them I am with you. If you mean something more destructive, then I'm out.
To clarify, I was not calling for Marx to be toppled, in fact, if we have learnt anything from history, is that we must learn from history in order to prevent the millions of deaths that indeed Marx perpetuated.
If we topple Marx, then it is likely the we "forget" what happened in the Soviet union and China under the banner of the murderous hammer and sickle.
I was merely making a point that any form of protest is always met with counter-protest and that you rarely get the result you are seeking when engaging in reactionary politics, particularly identity politics.

when will ppl understand that mixing the church and state, is a very bad idea.
that is what the socialist state is, it is a church or cult if you prefer, to bring about the eschaton, end times of a stateless utopia,
but, in order to do that, which it has no mandate for, it NEEDS ALL THE POWER
when it doesnt work, which it cannot and will not, it simply commands more power, to make the thing work.

Lab leak, seems like a reasonable hypothesis to me,
regardless of whether it was or wasn't this time, it is pretty clear, that these lab tests are equivalent to building weapons of mass destruction.
yet, no lab has been "locked down" in this time of pandemic, no, just regular small business and society at large.
But the labs keep on churning out chimera viruses, keep their data secret, the vaccines IP and safety data, all secret, the planned response, passports and mandates. It is pretty despicable really.

I don't think more redundancy was the issue. I mean we always want more redundancy, but it seems as though the system could have been doing as designed. If the climb was pitching up to high, it would have kicked in to pitch nose down. I think it would do this if pilot excerted continous back pressure, not knowing that system was trimming the vehicle for him. I think the issue is the way the system quietly pitches nose trim down. It should be made a big deal to the pilot that the system is pitching the nose. Also, if pilots did notice runaway trim, they should be able to switch off stab trim. Again, if this did not work, we are dealing with a different issue than sensors. Also, more redundancy you still ulitmately have to decide which sensor is giving you correct reading. I would like to see, the system ignoring sensors that are giving the wrong reading. How does the system know which reading is correct? In other words I would rather the system, shut off, if the sensor failed, than have two readings in disagreement. As a pilot though, I would always want more sensors.

@MrDogsledder Mate, I know you mean well, but really, the centre, is what is "conservative" in the context you are talking about, since, by definition, the centre is conserving what works. The left and right wings both have an ideology that somehow the world needs fixing. Regarding tolerance, it used to be the "left" defending us from the intolerance of the right, but now, correct, we have an intolerant left. Again, you seem to be caught up in the whole left-right paradigm and missing what is important. Framing "the left" as the enemy is a fools errand, as would be the opposite. It is a them v us mindset and doomed to failure.

The way I see, new atheism, is the same way I see Communism,
it made sense at a time, when religion was corrupted, there were lots of reasons to be nihilistic,
but, I agree, something is up, and it is lacking as a philosophy.
It is just not sustainable, dare I say, new atheism and Communism are a "mind virus", if we want to continue civilization, we need something more substantial, yet non-totalitarian (Non-Hegelian).

I broadly agree, but at13:03 - You state that "state-capitalism" is oxymoronic, which is funny.....But we do not have pure capitalism, or pure statism.
Capitalism does not mean "non-state", it means, the system that uses Capital (money) or capital markets as opposed to state force or warfare.
It is, you might say, moronic to suggest that we have either capitalism or socialism, when we clearly have a mixed economy, a hybrid economy.
We have a social-market. A free market that is state regulated and a social safety net or welfare system. So if you think a hybrid system is moronic, then well, think what you like.

great talk, the only thing is, magic, whether show tricks or manifestation, is not inherently bad, if it is white magic, in service of.......God, or the whole, (positive sum)
it is only bad, if it is black magic, as in, self serving at the expense of others (zero sum).

simultaneously ship in more and more people, putting huge strain on infra,
yet, let the roads, drains, schools, hospitals, etc. go to pot,
and, block new house building, farmers from producing, strangle small business etc. etc.
its soooo not right.

@OBrasilo I think we need to revisit the history books. I am sure I remember farmers being slaughtered during the Revolution, but regardless, it is not capitalism that needs growth, it is a human need to grow, produce and develop. I subscribe to Thomas Hobbes, state of nature, that is humans are savages when left to their own devices, if they have no reason to work, through a growing economy, they will not simply sit and contemplate life. In reality, we have Keynesian systems for many decades now, that is to say, we have a social-market. A regulated market with a welfare system. It seems like we have our cake and eat it.

it ALWAYS begins with a benign benevolent dictator who centralizes power totally, then the mayhem can begin.
Part of the solution is never give an inch to a tyrant who will restrict your freedoms to criticize and dissent. generally, i would not fear capitalism or coommunism, but a fascist total state where the land and means of production are owned and controlled by an ever smaller "elite" and eventually control the commanding heights of the entire globe.
the fascist agitators seem to raise enormous sums onshore, through monopoly and tight legal structure that shuts down competition, and offshore, in allegedly a litany of illegal activities (probably above the nation state laws).
it does not take great imagination to see the illegal offshore activities such as blood and organ farming, being brought onshore and fully "legally compliant" in a systematic way, in chinese and north korean concentration camps, for example. 1984 is the guide book, Brave New World is the instruction manual.

@Ryan88881 occultism is the same as saying, use the Lord's name in vain. If I say, I can heal you because I have access to God, but restrict you from that access, then I am dabbling with the occult. If I give you a book on "the occult" that is not dabbling with the occult. When I tell you the healing power of God is within you, normal religion, then that is the inverse of occult. When I tell you, that your health depends on my pills and potions, but I withhold the cure from you, or force you to pay for the cure through taxes or other type of payment, or coerce you into taking my potion , then I am dabbling with the occult.

@Xarkom89 If you noticed, I didn't say we had 100% free will, we have free will over the things we can control. If we are acting rationally, we act in line with our desires. However, we act irrationally which means, against our best interest or what we know, or think to be true, when it conflicts with desire. This is free will. You have the choice to harm somebody, but you may or may not have the desire to do so. The desire may well be determined or programmed....but your actions are not. To the extent you have self control, is the extent you can master your desires. You know if you cannot master some desires, you will end up locked in a cage. p.s. plenty of ppl have successfully used "free will" to overcome fears.

What is wrong with caring and sharing, being built into a single party state that commands and controls everything, totally. ??
Well, history tells us that the killing starts, when a portion of populace are labelled as not caring and sharing enough, but you can never do enough, so it's a trap, of sorts. Good people have been shown time and again to be willing to kill others, based on them not doing enough for the cause, the imminent crisis, whether real or manufactured, it doesn't matter.

Hi Terrance,
If you really believe that Wells Fargo commit fraud every chance, and that the other banks mentioned "helped tank the economy", then well you deep down the rabbit hole. I get that you have beef with some corporations, but understand, the state is the first corporation. People have a naive notion that if the state just controlled everything to ensure human emotions were wiped out, such as greed, then everything would be great. Find examples, where the state stepped in to "address" human emotion and see where it goes.
It is precisely state regulation and intervention that leads to "Privatize the gains and socialize the losses." - which is a problem. The heavy regulation shuts out competition from new banks since it is such a barrier to entry.
What is the problem if someone wakes up to make more money each day, despite having more than enough? Why does it bother you? Think of it like this, if they spend it in the economy, well it helps the economy and if they hoard it, never spend it, then the circulating supply goes up in value since they have effectively tightened the money supply.

The post-modernist present a compelling narrative yet it seems like a dystopian fiction to me, because if that were the truth, I doubt we would have made it this far and at best we would all live in meaningless chaos, which is clearly not the case - although for some people they do find life too much.
The narrative of the Bible, which has stood the test of time, still holds up as a compelling narrative of how we do find meaning despite suffering.
I tried to empathize with someone suicidal, imagine your whole being suffering in chaos, everywhere you looked you were dazzled, every thing you heard was deafening, you were possessed by ideology, the world conspires against you, the sky was endlessly falling, everyone you depended upon lies to you ----- this is reality for some people so no wonder post-modernism is appealing to that person.

@kingkoi6542 Gold has gone up because it is a bearer asset, with some degree of scarcity, so it will go up, in fact if you had held anything it would have gone up by a similar amount relatively due to the expansion of the money supply. We almost agree, but the thing I am not making clear is that it's not about Gold per se, and it's not about hedging inflation per se, it's about owning anything physical. A hedge against inflation would linearly with inflation, but Gold simply fluctates with an upward trend, due to money supply increase or pereived scarcity or fear taking hold of the markets. It's not a hedge because it will probably go up with inflation but that is not guaranteed.
CPI, consumer price, is the inflation we are talking about though since that is the one that we mean when we say inflation.
Going "off the gold standard" was about stimulating the economy, technological development, getting ppl into paid work and paying key workers and funding public works. None of that was happening on the "gold standard" because there was a stale mate situation where the gold holders were afraid to spend because they would not part with their precious metals due to it's perceived value. You can own all the Gold in the world and it's not going to help you in a crisis, which is when it is supposed to help you.
The reason Gold and Silver are not accepted as money, is that they are really bad currencies with a lot of friction in transaction and trust issues. Not to mention the cost to carry and secure. Gold will go up and down in value but you may just find it's not due to inflation. Remember, if something "should" be worth more tomorrow, then I will price that in today. If we know Gold is going to go up in value, why don't we just buy all the Gold today? Because the future price of Gold is baked into today's price, which is why the market price fluctuates, not even to mention the vaults of Gold happy to sell to you at any price, why? Because they own the supply of Gold.

You state that Socialism is "state control of the economy" which is what socialism morphed into.
The reason that socialism is still compelling to ppl, is because they believe the core story is to "socialise" against oppression, or to be "sociable".
The modern twist in the 20th century, was that was not the end of the story, the revolution against oppression, always ended where it began, with tyranny.
Cynical leaders (Hitler, Stalin , Mao) violently abused this sentiment, which was that they turned socialism into "State control of the economy" and packaged it, as if it were "sociable" when it was simply tyranny with a different garb. p.s. I am not saying socialism was done wrong. It is simply that leaders abused ppls intrinsic need to be or be seen to be sociable.

TA makes me fall asleep. I tend to agree with Saylor on this....to say, a few whales start buying 1Billion here, 2 Billion there, your price models sort of go out the window. Except, the ppl who believe that each cycle should look the same or similar to the last, will use that as a guide for their buying and selling, so in that sense, if it happens, it is more to do with human psychology and self-fueling prophecy than it is about the narrative of halvening. Why? Because if we know that it "should be" $100k BTC in x months time, and everybody know it, well that would be today's price.

what is tragic, is most moderns experience of groups of communes of ppl , is terrible, so office, school, public transport,
the idea of gathering with them is frightening to most ppl because you are seeing them, ppl, literally at their worst.
if you happen to have experienced groups of ppl in worship to God, it is indeed magical and transcendent, and spiritual healing , even if you could explain it away with science.

They bascially turned the country into an oil company, effectively took ownership of all the citizens, I mean subjects and made them "employees" of the state by "giving" them a universal basic income, or living wage. Venzuala like a ponzi scheme predicated upon rising oil prices, when oil stopped rising, oops. The joke is, their president thinks it is US causing the crisis, but if anything, they should have been able to diversify in the good time, like Saudi Arabia, but made the country even more dependent upon oil prices.

@arthurrosa9403 I would say in some ways, maybe, of course the ideas are compelling emotionally, but it would be easy (lazy) to attribute reduced working hours to Marx, but, in reality it is mostly due to technological innovation and advances in understanding, transfer of knowledge and efficiency. It has been shown time and again that efficiency drops off massively when ppl work over 8 hours a day anyway. The only thing you need to fear, is monopoly formation and oligarchy. When there is one state, or one corporate entity everybody works for (aka soviet union, or chyna, or Venezuela or North Korea), then you will lose all your rights for sure.

I somewhat agree, but, them not killing me should be a given in civil society. We all have a responsibilty to each other (social contract) to not harm anyone else through mal practice or negligence. Their "job", (and the job of the aircraft) is to get you there on schedule. It is the passengers job to assess the risks of boarding, as much as it is the pilots job to assess risks whilst flying. In other words, if you were concerned about safety over speed, say, you may be inclined to take train, car or boat, but these methods are also frought with dangers. The issue is that drivers and pilots are goal oriented and sometimes put the goal ahead of everything else, including safety. Both humans and machines are flawed. Machines lack emotion, which can be a good thing, but they also lack wisdom, which can be a very bad thing.

Europe knows what "original sin" is now, as people can only look on in shock and awe, whilst they are funding the war machine, it's depraved.
it is almost impossible to control where your gas is coming from, as an individual, you just pay "the gas company",
who in turn just tap off the main pipelines, which of course, is coming from Rusha.
Crippling guilt kicks in, emotions run high. Impossible to escape this trap. So carefully laid, exploiting goodwill, exploiting weakness, exploiting humanity.

it is interesting at each stage of the "arms race", the original pioneers, tap out, saying, this is sadistic,
without Newton, there would be no Einstein, Einstein was against the bomb, without Einstein there would be no bomb program,
without Oppenheimer, there would be no bomb, but he was against the hydrogen bomb, and so on and so forth,
you can see the same trend in AI research.

is it possible that assuming our universe is matter,
then the following universe is anti-matter, (and possibly the prior?)
in other words, could it be possible that universes, come in anti-matter/ matter pairs, stacked end on end, sequentially, and /or mirrored about the "big bang" reflection point.
now if we say, time is simply a function of mass moving through space, the mass of anti-matter and matter universes cancel each other out, and time is null.

It seems so clear to me now, that our ancestors prior to Adam and Eve,
were essentially animals, with no knowledge of good and evil.
Furthermore, it doesn't take much thought to conclude that the parents of Adam and Eve, were not human, which could mean a lot of things, but it is conceptualized as God,
because it is as if God was their parent.
In this context, it seems completely coherent, that Adam and Eve story does not even conflict with evolution, because it is simply a story of the first humans that had some kind of free will and moral autonomy.

@junevandermark952 Firstly, I think you are willfully missing the point. But, then the core stories have always been co-opted by collectivist cults (aka Roman Catholic Church), since Jesus was a Semite, not a Roman. Hence, Christians refer to the Pope as the anti-Christ because he cynically claims the role of God on Earth, which is blasphemy. Protestants reject all the Catholic dogma but even that is collectivist cult. "Jesus" did not have a "Jewish father" and he did not preach "Catholic doctrine", he simply lived a life of speaking the truth, living by simple rules (codified and described by disciples) and rejecting the state.
Secondly, you are simply leaning in to the position, that we do not know anything, we can only believe things based on how the world presents itself to us. The idea that something came from nothing and was never "created" is equally absurd.

I know. But that is not the reason for the crash. That describes well the previously airworhty aircraft. Perhaps you should have informed the authorities before the crashes if you had some special insight about what flawed design they allowed. We could instead be sat here debating why the aircrafts stalled and they should have had anti-stall systems. If the design was flawed, as you say, the aircraft would be unable to fly and carry passengers. The MCAS was added as a safety measure, only to be used if the aircraft was stalling. So either you concede that these aircraft were stalling, or that something failed like a sensor, giving software false reading, so it thought is was stalling even when it wasn't. Understand, the aircraft is not designed to stall. Something went wrong that is not fully understood. That is not even to mention, the issue of runaway stablizer was resolved on the previous Ethiopian flight before the crash, but they kept on flying it regardless of this rogue system rather than ground it then and there. That is the airlines duty, surely.

I would go a step further, and say women with specifically boys, are more conservative,
for the reasons outlined, because if society fails, their genetic line will end,
whereas, with girls, as mentioned, they will survive, as the new male invaders will still reproduce with them, hence childless women, or women with only girls, might be more liberal.

@ i know, but if you let the banks fail, which means, all the people with money the thought they had in the bank, lose their money, then you end up a political pariah. in other words, your political career is over, and ppl might actually come after you. so, for signing a few cheques, so to speak, you can see why it happens.

They appear to be trying to pit, the farmers against the NHS,
please do not allow them to control the narrative, in turning NHS against the farmers, that is a diabolical tactic, that must be called out.
They are separate issues.
I am sure the WEFminster Bankster oligarchy has post-modern art worth more than £500 million, so it's not about the money, it's about where it is being drawn from.
The farmers will turn the country upside down, and the gov will then blame the farmers for that, and for not funding the NHS, you can see this coming a mile away.
Hold their feet to the fire and NEVER allow them to control the narrative with deception.

@TiphanieBirdingNW that is not going work for your is been tried, that's communism, guilt by association.
What you need is to figure out why somebody acts this way. It's possible their parents are quite average but school is teaching them to reject the system, flip the table and not to mention cheap alcohol, fast food, pharma, drugs etc, plus violent media culture accepted and lifted up high within society, so in short these are product of society, not their parents, they might not even have parents when you look into it.

I can understand why ppl think it is 100% ham at fault, and that he should have backed out, however,
max, knew that being positioned around the outside at copse is a very vulnerable position to be in, yet he stuck with it, instead of backing out.
This is why it is a 50-50 more than you might think, since they could both have averted crash had they backed out and conceded.
Finally, what took max out, was his tyre coming off the rim, which is a really odd thing to see. Had the tyre stayed on, he would have probably had quite a bit more braking force.

It is really strange how selective people are with regards to offense,
on the one hand, you have "cuties", videos of beheading, BLM riots, GB2016, CCP concentration camps, brainwashing children to worship the state and big pharma, etc. etc.
and those are fine, yet,
the same ppl go ape sh*t, when somebody points out that every cloud has a silver lining. Always look on the bright side of life.

I wouldn't know what "woke" means in the context of the way the question is asked.
The traditional definition, would be, woke, as in, I am awake. So, it is another one of those devious word tricks, to say I am not "woke", is to say I am "asleep", and who wants to answer a survey question with the answer, yes, I am asleep? Hence, reply, I don't know what you are talking about, the phrasing makes no sense.

@mattmarkus4868 this is not a new or unique situation. Every dictator play book is essentially the same on a certain level. A clean way to defeat tyrants, is to be less like them. Fight authoritarians, with less authoritarianism, not more. In other words, when fighting monsters, be careful to not become a monster. Nobody has all the information or facts, the nature of war is suffering and regret. We have censorship and propaganda on both sides of a conflict making sense-making really hard. Dictators derive power through fear and attention, which they get in spades. So, with all that being said, the first antidote, is to lead by example, act in a way that is attractive to the subjects of the despot. Get them on your side. That way you turn the populace at a large against the megalomaniac. The second antidote, is to not be fearful or give them attention that they crave.

@wolfcamera1 how convenient that the story ends there. If we are being honest, you are giving half a story. The only ppl with "blood on hands" are those who choose to kill other human beings. Thou shalt not lie, steal, cheat, harm, and thou shalt not kill.
These are the crimes we should be paying attention to. There is only a "break-up" to the extent where ppl disagree on stuff, if everybody agreed on all 100 thousand laws, rules and codes, then maybe things would be different, We need to work on common law, that everybody can agree on.

@thecrossbow3370 Epic response. Though I think you picked a
false dicotomy with truth or money.
In my estimation, the real dicotomy is war or money. Money is simply an analogue for warfare, so in that sense, money and transaction is a replacement for slavery and subjugation. In case you misunderstand, I mean, in a world without money, we simply have warfare and poverty. It is possible to follow a path of truth, whilst still getting paid, you just have to have ethics and principles when engaging in business.
I think you are making a lot of assumptions about "elite" which are wrong, but obviously thats your opinion. They are driven by strong ideas of liberty. I propose you read Adam Smith, and Thomas Hobbes, and John Locke, to get a feel for the ideas of liberty. It seems clear to me, that pure self interest is what makes the world go round. It has been stated that America is not short of liberty, it is short on responsibility. There should be a statue of responsibility to balance out the statue of liberty.

@shanesimms3665 Again, i'm not disagreeing with you, but I think you could file that one under, "easier said than done", when the country is in disarray, things do not work like they do in a fully functioning state. You can't apply the same logic. I mean, think about it, these are hard social problems, if it were easy somebody would have, just fixed it. All we can do is watch on in awe, and hope (pray?) we can learn from how Ven went from a first world utopia, to a third world hell hole.

One thing you could say, is that animal sacrifice, was a kind of release of primal tension, which unless worked out, resulted in murder of fellow man, something like that.
A society that consideres itself to be above animal sacrifice, pays for it one way or another, though angst, discontent, killing, mass shooting? It also sends a message to youth, this is what can happen to you if you step out of line. Again, we are dealing with a least worst option. Killing of animals v inevitable killing of other humans. Any thoughts>?

People say you don't know, but the pattern is clear:
abuse or neglect as child, poor nutrition for whole life, torture or cruel to animals as child, zero moral or philosophical guidance, zero psychological guidance, outlier or disenfranchised by society, conspiratorial thinking, magical thinking, extreme bouts of paranoia, arrogance, addiction, poor brain health, misguided intellect, nihilistic, militant atheist.

what is interesting to me is, how everybody wants to be on the "right side of history" by being overtly good and obedient to authority, yet, the one lesson from history is that only truth, is the "right side of history", and everything else is deception. When we say, dont look at that, it's evil, we both fail to learn from history and then repeat history, by thinking somehow we are superior to our ancestors, when we are making all the same mistakes, if not worse.

GeoThermal certainly needs to be take more seriously, it has a lot of benefits, I had not even considered the economic benefits of putting to work, redundant oil drilling staff,
which may even stave off some kind of revolution, you never know.
I know a lot of ppl who would be more comfortable living near a geothermal plant, than say, a nuclear plant, despite what ppl might think about safety of nuclear when everything is going according to plan. Nuclear is too fraught with emotion, because it relies on most ppl becoming dependent on something they don't understand, and are terrified of.

@skylinefever It is no coincidence that in a secular, atheist state, politcs becomes the God, and ppl lose their little minds over who is in power at any particular point. If the power structure is subject to God, ie, all equal under the law, you dont have to worry about who is in power all the time. Of course, religion can and has been abused as a power structure, but at least it attempt s at a morality and ethic, which is not existent in an atheist state as it descends into pure hedonism, narcissism and decadence, mostly traits of false idol worship. I am not here to say one system is better than another, just pointing out that atheist states though history follow the same patterns, culminating in collectivism through state worship and ultimately some form of communism or fascism. That is just a scientific analysis.

@dirtysquirtybirty
No, certain nations are structured politically, entirely differently. How do you think Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates would have performed if they had been born in Soviet Russia, Zimbabwe or Venezuala under socialist regimes or dictatorships? I know that I can practice certain IQ test and do things to improve my score, gaming the system. If there is a difference, then you should do better at a test created by someone of your own race (this is not the case). Asians and Jews score very highly because they work really hard at homework and problem solving, playing games with family. It is in their culture. However, certain Asians and Jews have very low IQ when they do not have these things. The whole field is frought with looking for confirmatory evidence to support our view. IQ is by far a product of the society and family in which you were raised and the ability and encouragement to practice IQ tests such as math puzzles, playing games. p.s. even if you were high IQ, it is not a good idea to signal this, since tribal Savages are more likely to round you up and tear you apart as a threat to their dominance. In fact, having high IQ and signalling it, is a very low IQ dick move in certain cultures. You see, you can be intelligent in the abstract but socially retarded at the same time.

@danielarjona440
Firstly, electric vehicles have been around for a very very long time. They are only just starting to become a viable alternative for many wealthy ppl. They could be a better product, but only if they work better, it is not a given. The market will decide as and when it wants them. The world needs electric cars about as much as it needs any vehicle. There is a huge industry that goes into mining, transporting materials and manufacture of new vehicles of any kind, including electric vehicles.
Secondly, I "believe" in hard science, yes. That is, consistent predictable theory. We DO NOT have that with climate change. We cannot even accurately predict the weather weeks, months, years. decades in advance. According to "climate scientists" we should have already ran out of fossil fuel in the 70s and the ice caps should have melted already, oh and we should already have died from starvation. Look, these things can happen and nobody wants these things to happen. The question is how do we go about preventing it?
If the thing you believe in is self-evident, then you wouldn't need to use shame tactics. Electric cars are not going to "save" the planet. They will make our cities cleaner places. Which will be great, but rest assured that damn climate will keep changing.

Socialist doctrine always has a call for peasant class to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
The difference, is that it is done by force of the state. Comply or die mantra.
"Real socialism", would be deemed non-political altruism, whereas political socialism is altruism with a gun in your back.
Again, I think you are speaking to the converted here, I don't think you are getting to the heart of the matter, which is, why socialism is so compelling for ppl and fall for same trick over again.
I would argue that beating down on state socialists, will mostly lead to them rejecting your analysis out of hand. It would be nicer, I think, I you built up argument, from a position of pro-altruistic-voluntary socialism, through to the epiphany that political socialism is a purely cynical power play.

@earthlytable again, I hear you, bit it's more complex than simply complying or not, yes this is how totalitarianism is created, yes everyone plays their role. Ppl who comply are being asked to comply by their bosses, who in turn are being asked to comply. To refuse and resist, is to lose your job, or so they think anyway. You need to unionize, otherwise you are simply one individual who the group at large will dispense with, and you won't even get to make your point, you will simply be out cast and thought of as a wrong thinker.

It is interesting that you can pull up video footage of England from 100+ years ago, and not see much oppression. You see a lot of poverty.
Yet, you can pull up footage today, all around the world, ppl being literally oppressed, and,
Britain, is deemed to be oppressive,
makes no sense, unless you are looking at the world through a particular lens, perhaps a marxist type lens.

@gordonthefreeman The thing is Gordon, we are talking meta-physical and abstract concepts. Something that children and animals are unable to do. It is great that we have you to tell us what they are thinking, despite them largely agreeing on how to live and meaningful life despite the fact that life is suffering. The difference being that Jews largely believe that God is "out there" whilst Christians believe God is out there and within our ancestors and within us (metaphorically). Belief that we are the Universe, not separate from it.
Studying human psychology it is self-evident that "stupid religious beliefs" are human nature. The false Messiah or false prophet is the worship of things of a temporary ephemeral nature, such as the self, another human, a team, a tribe, a country, a currency etc. In other words, if you think you have no religion or beliefs, think again as you are probably worshipping a false prophet, even if the only belief you held was in the currency of your country. The only thing that gives a currency value, is in fact our collective belief, thus money is a religion, so just be careful when ridding the world of religion as that is precisely what the Soviets and the Nazis did. We have already done it. Also Venezuala recently tried to kill all religion - how did that turn out? Worship of the state!
The death of God is not necessarily something to celebrate as it is not clear you have a better system to fill the void, that does not result in poverty and genocide. How do you propose to replace "God"? Is atheism a good survival strategy? The common ground between atheists and theists is only found in the concept of God (the unknown unknown). The fact that we can argue over the details of something, indicates that the something exists, we just argue over the form it takes. How can you explain I spend an inordinate amount of time debating the concept of God with atheists? Do you understand irony?

Yes, I like Jimmy and respect the work he has done for Bitcoin community. However, there are a multitude of major problems with Bitcoin, that Bitcoin maximalists either ignore, or brush over, in the hope it might take attention away from these core flaws. In short, Bitcoin is a good start, but has a long way to go to be "digital gold" or "money for the internet" or "the internet of money".

Who is "they"? I registered your points but I asked for mechanism of collapse. Just saying everything will collapse (....so buy silver) is a pretty juvenile narrative. Collapse into what? For every trade, you have a buyer and seller. The "they" you speak of, what makes you think "they" are not rigging the silver markets? When you sell stocks, someone buys them from you and you effectively buy dollars, or pounds, or yen or whatever. Furthermore, when this "collapse" happens, what use will your precious silver be. If the government does not take it by confiscation, in the event of a huge calamity, I would prefer things around me that have utility value, such as oil, water, shelter, food, tools, weapons etc. Silver is the last thing I am thinking of when in a survival situation.
You talk about a "fragile house of cards" but we are way more decentralized as a society than ever, and there is more liquidity and markets than ever. Not relying on "gatekeepers" to carry out trades. You need to reconcile your position because you simply can't have a stock, bond, housing and currency collapse. People buy stock and bond with currency and they sell stock and bond for currency. In other words, stocks may "collapse" into bonds or vice-versa. Houses may "collapse" into currency or vice-versa etc. etc.
What are you even saying? It is so incoherent and unclear what your narrative, or mechanism for collapse is, other than, it's all gonna collapse.
Just to be clear, I am not saying that there will be no collapse, there may be some kind of correction, but I am saying that if it does happen, silver is not going to mean shit, when your neighbor is trying to eat you.

If you think back to brexit, the rationale was the "elites" who are unelected and unaffected by the laws they impose, should not have power over ppl.
nothing will change under labour, in fact it might get much worse, as even more elites meddling.
what uk needs is people who are elected locally, making changes locally, and actually living with their decisions, instead of in some distant land.
if you have gated private security, why would you care about local police, likewise, if your children go to private school, why would you care about state school?

when women have their own resources, they simply don't need men, thus a man becomes a vanity project of which nobody can clear the bar,
as for men, if they cannot clear the bar, they will check out of the system, since their only purpose in life, of protecting, providing, pleasing and meeting the needs of women, cannot be met.

@Tony29103 It's also prejudicial to only show video of Floyd 20-30mins after ingestion of Meth and Fentanyl cocktail since it appears, from the social media viral video, which is out of context, that Chauvin "caused" a "drug like" state in Floyd by "asphyxiation", rather than, the narrative that Floyd did it to himself, whilst resisting arrest. The fact Floyd has previous case almost identical to this one, is very relevant to the case. The reason Floyd would not have been charged, is only proof that there was "reasonable doubt" that he did anything wrong. Well, you could clearly see, he was not complying with Police orders, so that is enough to charge you in some places.

Such powerful thoughts, to understand that it is not a given, that Science is a useful endeavour. It is only a given in the context that it was born out of traditional religion or narrative structure.
You might say it is self evident that Science is a useful endeavour, but, Science also tells us, in the long run we are all dead and nothing matters, so .....
.....It is not clear, at all, that Science is anything more than a vanity project, that makes us feel smart, entertains us and gives us a margin more free will than we otherwise would.
Why do you think the story of science creation mythology closely analogous to the Bible genesis.
There was nothing, then there was light (big bang), then there was the Sun, the Earth, the planets, life (abiogenesis), man, woman. etc.etc.
The Earth (virgin mother), gave birth to life (immaculate conception).
