They see their EU neighbors becoming more prosperous and them getting poorer each year and they want to join the party.   6. Russia didn't do it alone. The Western Allies did half of it. Even Stalin himself said. Without the British breaking the German codes the USSR would've lost the battle of Moscow and it's have fallen in 1941 and if the U.S and UK hadn't armed the Soviets with LEND LEASE Russians would be speaking German today.
